Setup Radar is a strategy checker and setup watcher for MetaTrader 5 from Neuron Systems. You describe your setup in plain rules, or simply mark a few examples of it on the chart. Setup Radar finds every time it happened in the history, replays each one as a real trade with the spread paid, and tells you honestly whether it made money. Then it watches the market for the next one and alerts you, or trades it at the risk you set.
By default it only alerts you. It places orders only when you switch your strategy to Trade it, and then only at the risk per trade you choose.
Native MQL5, no DLLs, closed-candle logic: a match is decided when its candle closes and does not change afterwards. Works on any symbol (forex, gold and metals, indices, crypto) and any timeframe.
=== HOW IT WORKS ===
Setup Radar is a step-by-step wizard with two pages. On the first page you define your strategy, in one of two ways or both:
- Write it as rules. Add conditions such as "RSI (14) is below 30", "Price crosses above EMA 50" or "Bullish engulfing", all of which must be true. A match is the candle on which they all become true.
- Show it on the chart. Mark at least three examples of your setup by clicking their first and last candle. Setup Radar learns what they have in common (the shape of the move, the time of day, the indicators you choose) and finds every other moment that looks the same.
On the second page every past match is replayed as a trade: in at the next candle's open, the stop beyond the setup, the target as a multiple of the stop, the spread paid, and the stop checked before the target inside each candle so the result is never flattered. You see how many trades won and lost, the result in money on your own equity and risk, the balance curve, the worst drawdown, and how the setup did in the older two thirds of the history against the recent third.
When a setup loses, Setup Radar tries about 25 changes on the same history: the other direction, another target or stop, break-even, a trailing stop, a trend, strength or momentum filter, a session filter, or one rule less. A change is only offered when it made money in both the older and the recent part of the history and beats the setup by a clear margin. One click applies it, and the best version is kept for that chart.
Once you are happy, press Start watching. On every closed candle the radar checks your strategy and alerts you on a match, or opens the trade with your stop, target, break-even, trailing stop and time limit.
=== WHAT IS INCLUDED ===
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Rule builder | 11 kinds of condition over about 30 indicators, lines and price levels, as many as you need, all of which must be true. Each rule shows whether it is true on the last candle. |
| Mark examples | Click the first and last candle of a setup to teach it by example. Mark wrong matches to teach it what to skip, and draw zones it should watch. |
| History check | Every past match replayed as a trade on up to 30,000 candles, with next-candle entry, the spread paid and the stop checked first. |
| Result in your money | Won, lost and the result on the equity and risk you type in, with the balance curve, the worst drawdown and the win rate needed to break even. |
| Period | Check all the history, the last year, 6, 3 or 1 month, or your own From and To dates. |
| Trades list | Every trade with its date, exit and result. Click one and the chart jumps to it. |
| Trades on the chart | Each past trade drawn like a position tool: target and stop zones, entry and exit arrows, and the details in the tooltip. |
| Ideas | About 25 changes tested on the same history; only those that held up in both the older and the recent data are offered, with one-click Apply. |
| Best version kept | An applied idea is saved for that symbol and timeframe, and the best result each chart has seen is kept, with a way back if a later change does worse. |
| Trade management | Stop beyond the last candles, target as a multiple of the stop or none, break-even, trailing stop and close after a number of candles, in the history check and in live trades alike. |
| Watching | A live card with how many rules are true (or how alike the last candle is), pop-up and mobile push alerts, or trading at your risk per trade. |
| Saved strategies | A strategy can apply to all charts, to one symbol, or to one symbol and timeframe, and stays when you change chart or restart MT5. |
=== CONDITIONS YOU CAN USE ===

| Rising / falling | EMA 50 is rising compared with 5 candles ago |
| Between | Stochastic %K is between 20 and 50 |
| Candle pattern | 19 patterns: engulfing, hammer, shooting star, inside bar, doji, harami, morning and evening star, three soldiers or crows, marubozu, tweezers and more |
| Candle size | The candle is bigger than 1.5 x ATR; the body is at least 60% of the candle |
| Breakout | Closes above the highest high of the last 20 candles |
| In a row | Three bullish candles in a row |
| Price at a level | Touches or sweeps yesterday's high or low, the Asian high or low, or one of your own zones |
| Time of day | Between 08:00 and 11:00, with London, New York and Asia presets |
| Day of week | Tuesday to Thursday only |
Lines and values: price, EMA, SMA, VWAP, RSI, Stochastic %K and %D, CCI, Williams %R, Momentum, MACD line, signal and histogram, Bollinger upper, middle and lower, ADX, +DI, -DI, ATR, volume and its average, yesterday's and the Asian high and low, the previous candle's high and low, today's open, a buffer of any other indicator on your computer, or a plain number.
=== HOW TO USE IT ===
- Define it. Pick Buy or Sell, then add your rules or mark your examples.
- Check it. Press Check it and read the Summary: won, lost, the result on your equity and the worst drawdown. Look at the Trades tab and on the chart to see what was really traded.
- Improve it honestly. Open Ideas. Apply a change only when it makes sense to you as a trader, not just because the number went up.
- Manage it. Set the stop, target, break-even, trailing stop and time limit on the Manage tab; the history is checked again on each change.
- Watch it. Press Start watching and choose Alert me or Trade it. Test Trade it on a demo account first.
=== WHAT TO EXPECT ===
Expect many first ideas to fail the check. That is the point: it is cheaper to find out on the history than with real money. Setup Radar never hides costs, never enters on the signal candle and never lets the target win inside a candle that also hit the stop, so its results are usually lower than a casual backtest. An idea that made money in both the older and the recent history is a better candidate, not a guarantee: a change that only fits the past can still be luck.
=== SUGGESTED SETTINGS (starting points) ===
These are starting points to match your style and the market you trade; they are configuration preferences, not performance recommendations. Adjust and test on your own charts.
| If you want... | Try |
|---|---|
| A quick first check | Two or three rules, the default stop beyond the last 3 candles and a target of 2 x the stop. |
| To teach it by example | Mark 5 to 10 clean examples; mark wrong matches when it finds ones you would not take. |
| A more realistic cost | Set "Extra cost per trade" to your usual slippage in points. |
| Recent behaviour only | Use the 6M or 3M period on the Summary. |
| Let winners run | Target none and a trailing stop of 1 to 2 x the stop on the Manage tab. |
| One setup per market | Set "Applies to" to the symbol, or to the symbol and timeframe. |

=== COMPATIBILITY ===
- MetaTrader 5.
- Any symbol: forex, gold and metals, indices, crypto.
- Any timeframe. More history gives a fairer check.
- Native MQL5, no DLLs and no external dependencies.
- In the Strategy Tester it trades the strategy saved for that symbol and timeframe. With none saved it runs a built-in example: buy when price crosses above the EMA 50 while above the EMA 200.
- The free demo runs in the Strategy Tester, where MT5 does not pass clicks to the panel: you will see the built-in example trading, but defining your own strategy needs a live or demo chart.
=== PAIRS WITH THE NEURON SUITE ===
Setup Radar checks and watches your own setups. It fits alongside the rest of the Neuron suite (each sold separately): NeuronEcho, NeuronCloud, NeuronBreakout, NeuronScanner, NeuronTrend, NeuronStructure, NeuronLiquidity and NeuronSessions. Use their levels and signals as rules, or as context for the setups you mark.
=== SUPPORT ===
Customisation requests and questions are welcome through the Comments section on this product page.
NOTE: Setup Radar checks strategies on past data. How a strategy did on history does not guarantee how it will do next. It only alerts you unless you switch a strategy to Trade it; then it places real orders at the risk you set, so test that on a demo account first. All trading decisions and their results remain entirely your responsibility.
