Triple Edge Prop – three rule-based NASDAQ-100 intraday strategies in one Expert Advisor. Each engine has its own logic, its own magic number, its own timeframe and its own trading window. Together they cover three different market situations: a volatility breakout, an institutional VWAP pullback and an overnight bias breakout. Built for prop-firm challenges and funded accounts, with a full challenge guard on board.
▶ Why three strategies instead of one?
A single strategy goes through losing streaks, and losing streaks cluster. Three engines with different edges smooth the equity curve: in our 2022–2026 test the correlation between their daily results was only 0.00 to 0.27. While one strategy waits, another one may already be trading.
■ Strategy 1 – Vault Break (M30, long only)
Idea: most intraday moves are just noise around the session open. The EA only buys when price leaves this noise area with a clear push that is supported by real buying activity (VWAP).
- Noise barrier = session open at 00:00 CT + 30 % of the 15-session moving average of the daily ATR. The level is fixed at midnight and does not move during the day.
- Entry: a 30-minute candle closes above the noise barrier and above the session VWAP (anchored at 00:00 CT).
- Window: 10:00 – 14:30 CT, up to 3 trades per session. After a take profit or stop loss the EA re-enters as long as both conditions still hold.
- Exit: take profit 40 points, stop loss 75 points (on the NQ future that is 800 / 1,500 USD per contract), otherwise time exit at 14:30 CT.
- Geometry: small target, wider stop = high win rate, made for passing challenges.
■ Strategy 2 – VWAP Pullback with ADX Gate (M1, long only)
Idea: large orders are executed with VWAP algorithms. When price pulls back to the VWAP inside an up-move, these algorithms often push it back up.
- Opening range: 08:30 – 09:00 CT.
- Step 1 – arm: a 1-minute candle closes above the opening-range high.
- Step 2 – pullback: price touches the VWAP (anchored at 08:30 CT).
- Step 3 – reclaim: a candle closes back above the VWAP.
- Step 4 – ADX gate: ADX (14, Wilder) is above 20 and not rising, so the pullback is losing momentum. If only this condition is missing, the EA waits for it.
- Steps 1 to 3 may happen in the same candle.
- Exit: take profit = highest high of the last 5 candles, stop loss = lowest low of the last 20 candles, otherwise time exit at 15:55 CT.
■ Strategy 3 – Overnight Bias ORB (M15, long + short)
Idea: price discovery during the night shows where buyers and sellers are pushing before the cash session opens. The EA trades the opening-range breakout only in the direction of this overnight bias.
- Overnight range: 23:00 – 08:30 CT, split into three equal zones.
- Bias: cash open in the top third = long only, in the bottom third = short only, in the middle third = no trade that day.
- Opening range: the first 15-minute candle (08:30 – 08:45 CT). Signals are taken from 09:00 CT.
- Entry: a 15-minute close beyond the opening range in the bias direction with ADX above 20. A break of the opposite side does not cancel the setup.
- Exit: stop loss = 30 % of the averaged daily ATR, take profit = 3 × stop (reward-to-risk 1:3), otherwise time exit at 14:30 CT. One trade per day.
- Low trade frequency, large winners – very well suited for funded accounts.
■ Prop-firm toolkit
- Challenge guard: profit target, daily loss limit and maximum loss (static or trailing). When a limit is hit, the EA closes its own positions and stops trading – permanently for target and max loss, until the next day for the daily limit.
- Strategy benching (optional): pauses a strategy while its own equity curve is in drawdown. It keeps trading virtually and returns to live trading at a new equity high. Three modes: Monte Carlo drawdown percentile (default 75th), fixed drawdown, or equity below its moving average.
- Position sizing: NQ micro-contract equivalent (default 5 micros = 10 USD per index point per strategy), fixed lots, or risk % of balance. Separate size multiplier per strategy.
- Each strategy can be switched on or off separately.
■ Live dashboard and chart levels
- Status of every strategy: LIVE / BENCHED / OFF, trades today, open profit and the exact step it is waiting for (for example "ARMED – waiting pullback to VWAP").
- All key values: session open, noise barrier, both VWAPs, opening ranges, overnight range with the open position in %, bias, ADX, averaged daily ATR.
- Guard status with total and daily result.
- Levels drawn on the chart: noise barrier, session open, opening ranges, overnight high / low with the thirds, VWAP dots.
■ Backtest
NASDAQ-100 CFD, 1-minute data from 03/2022 to 10/2026, spread 1.4 points, 5 micros (10 USD per point) per strategy, all default settings:
| Strategy | Trades | Win rate | Profit factor |
| Vault Break | 1,028 | 64.6 % | 1.13 |
| VWAP Pullback | 541 | 71.2 % | 0.86 |
| Overnight Bias ORB | 447 | 50.3 % | 1.37 |
| All three combined | 2,016 | 63.2 % | 1.19 |
The VWAP Pullback uses small targets on M1, so it is the most sensitive strategy to spread and commission. With a wide spread you can switch it off and run the other two. Always test with your own broker's data first.
■ Robust and safe
- Signals are calculated on closed candles only, entry at the open of the next candle. No repainting.
- Uses M1, M15 and M30 data internally – works on any chart timeframe.
- Automatic server-time conversion to US Central Time, including US and European daylight saving time.
- Checks margin, volume limits, stop and freeze levels, trading sessions and spread (optional filter).
- Works on hedging and netting accounts (on netting accounts only one strategy position at a time).
- Data gaps are detected – no trades on outdated candles.
- No DLLs, no internet connection, no grid, no martingale, no averaging down. Every trade has a stop loss.
■ Recommended setup
- Symbol: your broker's NASDAQ-100 (NAS100, USTEC, US100 or the NQ / MNQ future).
- Timeframe: any (M5 or M15 gives a good view of the levels).
- Account: from 10,000 USD with the default 5 micros per strategy, or reduce the size.
- Time zone: "Auto" works for most brokers. If your broker does not use New-York-close server time (GMT+2 / +3), select the matching mode and GMT offset in the inputs.
- Prop challenge: enter the target, daily loss and max loss of your challenge in the guard inputs.
- Strategy Tester: use "1 minute OHLC" or "Every tick based on real ticks".

Risk warning: trading leveraged products such as index CFDs and futures involves substantial risk. Backtest results are not a guarantee of future results. Test the EA on a demo account and with your broker's data before trading live.
