MT5 History Checker
Can you trust the historical data behind your MT5 backtest?
MT5 History Checker is a diagnostic utility designed to identify missing periods and coverage problems in the historical data supplied by your MetaTrader 5 broker.
Select the symbol and date range you want to examine and run the checker. The utility analyses the available history and provides a clear PASS, WARNING or FAIL result.
What it checks
- Historical tick-hour coverage
- M1 historical-data coverage
- Missing periods within expected trading sessions
- Duration of each detected data gap
- Major, warning and minor gaps
- Major holiday closures
- Largest missing historical-data periods
Detected gaps are reported with their exact start time, end time, duration and classification, making it easier to identify where your broker's history may be incomplete.
Simple to use
- Attach MT5 History Checker to a chart.
- Select the symbol to check.
- Enter the From and To dates.
- Click OK.
- Monitor progress in the Experts tab.
- Review the final PASS, WARNING or FAIL report.
For more detailed analysis, the utility can also export CSV reports.
Why check your history?
Backtest results depend on the historical data available to MetaTrader 5. Missing periods can affect the trades generated during a test and may make comparisons between brokers or historical tests less reliable.
MT5 History Checker gives you a quick way to examine the historical-data coverage available from your broker before relying on a backtest.
Important
MT5 History Checker is a diagnostic utility only. It does not open, close or modify trades.
A PASS result does not certify the accuracy of every historical price or guarantee the accuracy of a backtest. It means that no material missing-data problems were identified according to the checks performed by the utility.
