N Pattern MT5 is an Expert Advisor developed for automated gold trading on MetaTrader 5.

Recommended Trading Conditions
- N Pattern MT5 is sensitive to spread, slippage and execution speed. Broker conditions can therefore have a significant impact on results.
- A Raw Spread or Raw ECN gold account is strongly recommended.
- If your broker quotes gold with a different number of decimals, the EA adapts automatically. If a pip setting is used that does not suit the instrument, the EA detects it, falls back to the standard pip for that symbol and writes the reason to the journal.
- Run a MetaTrader 5 backtest using the Every tick based on real ticks model before increasing the trading volume. Results can differ between brokers because of spread, commission, symbol specifications, execution speed, liquidity and slippage.

For stable operation, MetaTrader 5 and Algo Trading must remain active. A VPS located close to the broker's trading server is recommended.
Risk Management
| N Pattern MT5 uses martingale recovery. After a losing trade the next position size is multiplied by the martingale factor. The sequence stops when a trade closes in profit, when the maximum number of steps is reached, or when the consecutive loss counter removes the EA from the chart. |

With the default settings on XAUUSD, a Stop Loss of 200 pips costs approximately 20 USD per 0.01 lot. A full recovery sequence at the default multiplier of 3.0 therefore develops as follows:
* Loss 1: 0.01 lot, about 20 USD, cumulative 20 USD
* Loss 2: 0.03 lot, about 60 USD, cumulative 80 USD
* Loss 3: 0.09 lot, about 180 USD, cumulative 260 USD
* Loss 4: 0.27 lot, about 540 USD, cumulative 800 USD
- By default the EA removes itself from the chart after 4 consecutive losses, which caps the sequence at roughly 800 USD from a 0.01 lot start. If you raise or disable that limit, the exposure grows very quickly and there is no upper bound other than your balance.
- The default Take Profit is half the Stop Loss. The strategy therefore depends on a high proportion of winning trades, and the recovery exists for that reason.
- Set the Martingale multiplier to 1.0 if you prefer flat position sizing with no recovery. Each loss then costs about 20 USD per 0.01 lot.
- Before increasing risk, decide in advance how many recovery steps your balance can survive and set Maximum martingale steps and Remove EA after N losses accordingly.
- New users should begin on a demo account or with 0.01 lot until they understand the EA's trading frequency, execution behaviour and position management.
Important Information
- The EA does not guarantee profits. Historical tests and previous results do not guarantee future performance.
- Backtest results may differ from live trading because of spread, commission, latency, slippage, liquidity and broker execution.
- Martingale position sizing increases exposure after a loss. A sustained run of losing trades can consume a large part of an account, and in the worst case all of it. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
- Always test the EA under your own broker conditions before increasing the lot size or risk.
