Aurum Prior Week Breakout Free is a free breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. It trades breakouts of the previous week high and low with stop orders, an ATR-based stop and a trailing exit.
Position size is a fixed percentage of the current balance, so the lot size grows and shrinks with the account.
Logic
- Reads the previous week high and low.
- Places a buy stop above the high and a sell stop below the low.
- Each level is traded once; orders expire with the week.
- Initial stop is 0.6 x daily ATR; a 2.0 x ATR trail follows.
- Positions close after 480 hours if still open.
- Lot size = 1% of balance at risk, so it compounds.

The defaults were selected for BTCUSD. The EA runs on any symbol and chart, but other symbols need their own testing and settings. Attach it to one chart per symbol; the chart timeframe does not change the logic.
Historical simulation
MT5 Strategy Tester simulation on BTCUSD, 2019-01-01 to 2026-09-30, 1-minute OHLC model, USD 5,000 start, default inputs. Per calendar year: 2019: +10.7%, 2020: +31.4%, 2021: +32.9%, 2022: +12.5%, 2023: +30.5%, 2024: -3.6%, 2025: -1.1%, 2026: +17.1%. Trades: 278. Maximum equity drawdown: 19.3%. This is a simulation on one broker's price history. It is not live trading and does not predict future results.
Important limits
Breakout systems have long flat or losing periods. Results depend on the broker's spread, swap, contract size and trading hours. Test on a demo account first and use risk you can afford to lose. Trading decisions remain with the user.
