Copy your MT5 trades to Interactive Brokers

You keep using MT5. Every order you open or close is sent to your IB account. In real time. No coding. No changes to your strategy or EA.

What it does

  • Real-time copying: same direction, reverse, or one side only.
  • Map any MT5 symbol to any IB symbol. Set a lot ratio for each.
  • Forex, Futures, Stocks, CFDs, Metals and Crypto.
  • Position sync: both accounts checked, any difference fixed.
  • Optional stop-loss and take-profit on the IB side.
  • Email or push alerts when copying fails.

Also: Magic number filter, on-chart panel, hedge and netting support, interface in English or Chinese.

Reliability

  • Connection lost / no data from TWS → automatic reconnect.
  • Client ID in use → automatic switch to a free ID.
  • Order filled while disconnected → found by the next position check, then corrected.
  • Duplicate orders → blocked. Two instances, same account → one stopped.
  • Order rejected by IB → the original IB reason is shown.
  • Repeated sync failures → sync stops automatically.

Symbol setup

Format: {MT5 Symbol} -> {IB Symbol} = {Ratio}
Example: AAPL -> STK-AAPL-SMART-USD = 1

The ratio is the size sent to IB for each 1 lot in MT5.
Lines starting with // are ignored.

IB symbol formats:

  • Forex: CASH-EUR.USD
  • CFD: CFD-IBUS30-SMART-USD
  • Stock: STK-AAPL-SMART-USD
  • Future: FUT-MES202612-CME-USD

Add -[Multiplier] only if the contract has more than one. Example: FUT-DAX202612-EUREX-EUR-25

Setup in 3 steps

  1. MT5. Add 127.0.0.1 to the allowed URLs. Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors.
  2. TWS. Open Global Configuration → API → Settings. Tick Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients. Untick Read-Only API. Add 127.0.0.1 to Trusted IPs.
  3. EA. Attach it to a chart. Map your symbols. Connect.

Requirements

  • MetaTrader 5.
  • IB TWS or IB Gateway, running and logged in.
  • Not for the Strategy Tester. Use a live or demo chart.
