1. Product overview
HBT SILVER is an automated Expert Advisor created for the broker instrument representing Silver against the US dollar, commonly named XAGUSD. Broker prefixes or suffixes may be present, for example XAGUSD.a or XAGUSDm.
This manual covers only customer-visible installation, settings, monitoring and safe operation. Proprietary trading methods are intentionally outside the scope of this document.
Simple customer workflow
Install the EA, open the correct Silver chart, review the visible lot and risk controls, enable Algo Trading and monitor the integrated dashboard. No additional customer configuration package is required for normal operation.
Important operating boundaries
- Use HBT SILVER on the broker's genuine, trade-enabled XAGUSD instrument.
- Begin on a demo account and verify symbol specifications, volume, margin and execution.
- Do not interpret a successful installation or backtest as a guarantee of future performance.
- Do not attach multiple copies to the same account unless you have deliberately reviewed the resulting combined exposure.
- Keep the MT5 terminal connected and Algo Trading enabled, or use a correctly configured MT5 VPS.
2. Installation and first start
- Open the intended MetaTrader 5 terminal and sign in to the MQL5 account used for the purchase.
- Install HBT SILVER from the Market section in MT5.
- Open Market Watch and make the broker's XAGUSD instrument visible.
- Open a new XAGUSD chart. For the first operational check, an M5 chart is convenient.
- Drag HBT SILVER from Navigator onto the chart.
- Allow algorithmic trading for the EA and enable the terminal's Algo Trading button.
- Review the Inputs before confirming. Use conservative volume for the first demo run.
- Confirm that the dashboard appears and that the Experts and Journal tabs contain no initialization error.
- Use a demo account with adequate free margin.
- Attach one instance to the intended XAGUSD chart.
- Keep CheckMargin enabled.
- If you deliberately enable the public sizing override, select Manual Lot and choose a small broker-valid StartLots value.
- Observe initialization, panel values and the first trading activity before considering live use.
3. Risk and lot controls
Position sizing controls estimate order volume; they do not create a guaranteed account-loss ceiling. Spreads, commission, swaps, slippage, gaps, stop execution, contract size, currency conversion and simultaneous exposure can all change actual results.
Start conservatively. The default or maximum value of an input is not a personalized recommendation. Always verify the resulting volume and margin on your own broker before live deployment.Risk selector

Use only a verified value with the correct basis. MaxLots 99.0 Upper volume limit for customer sizing, additionally constrained by broker rules. The default is not a recommended order size. UseEquity false Uses equity rather than balance where account-based sizing applies. Floating profit and loss may then affect volume. OnlyUp true Retains the higher capital reference for applicable sizing. It should not be treated as drawdown protection. ResetHighestBalance false Requests a deliberate reset of the retained capital reference where applicable. Return it to false after the intended reset. CheckMargin true Enables applicable pre-trade margin protection. Keep enabled. An order can still be rejected if account or market conditions change.
