1. Product overview
HBT OIL is an automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. Use it on the oil instrument confirmed for your broker and setup. Symbol names and contract specifications vary between brokers.
2. Installation and first startBefore you begin
- Use the official product installation and the correct oil contract. Do not substitute another market or oil contract without checking compatibility.
- Check the broker's minimum lot, contract size and margin requirements.
- Run only one copy for the same account and symbol unless product support has confirmed a different setup.
- Keep MT5 connected and Algo Trading enabled while the EA is managing trades.
Installation from the MQL5 Market
- Open MT5 and sign in to the MQL5 account used for your purchase.
- Install HBT OIL from the Market section.
- In Market Watch, select the correct oil symbol and open its chart.
- Drag HBT OIL from Navigator onto the chart.
- Review the Inputs. If a preset was supplied for your setup, load it and check the symbol and volume settings.
- Allow algorithmic trading in the EA's settings and enable the terminal's Algo Trading button.
- Confirm that the dashboard appears. Check Experts and Journal for any start-up errors.
Confirming your oil symbol
BrokerOilSymbol is set to AUTO by default. If your broker uses an unusual name, enter the exact oil symbol shown on the chart, including any prefix or suffix. This setting does not switch the EA to a different chart or market.
First demo check. Confirm the account, symbol and intended volume before enabling trading. The EA does not have to place an order immediately after installation.
3. Risk and lot controls
Start with the controls below. Keep other settings as supplied unless product support has advised a change. Always check the resulting order volume on your own broker.
Lot size is not a loss limit. A volume setting or multiplier does not guarantee a maximum loss. Default values are starting settings, not recommendations for every account.
Main volume settings

Capital and margin settings
Keep the per-order limit at or below the total lot limit when the total limit is enabled. If the calculated volume is below your broker's minimum lot, an order may be skipped. Do not increase volume simply to force a trade.

4. Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |

| EA is missing from Navigator | Check that you installed it in the intended MT5 terminal. Refresh Navigator or restart MT5. |
| EA is attached but does not trade | Check Algo Trading, EA permissions, the oil symbol, market hours, margin and any active filters. No immediate trade does not necessarily mean there is a fault. |
| No trades after reducing volume | The requested volume may be below the broker's minimum lot. Check the symbol specification and your sizing settings. |
| Order volume is unexpected | Review Risk, StartLots, RiskMultiplier and the volume limits. For capital-based sizing, also check OnlyUp and the capital reference. |
| Not enough money / invalid volume | Check free margin, the minimum lot and the broker's lot step. Do not disable protections simply to force an order. |
| Dashboard is missing | Check HBTPanel_Show and the dashboard's live/test settings. In Strategy Tester, enable Visual mode and HBTPanel_UpdateInVisualTester. |
| Trades continue after switching off | Check for existing pending orders, another EA instance or an active VPS. Switching off does not remove broker-held orders. |
| Backtest results differ | Compare the broker, contract, dates, tick model, costs, Inputs and news data. Send both reports to support if the difference remains unexplained. |
Contacting support
Include the product version, broker/server, exact oil symbol, account currency and leverage, your Inputs, and a screenshot of the issue. Add the server time and any Experts or Journal error message. For a backtest, include the report, date range and test model.
Never send passwords, VPS login details or verification codes. Hide unnecessary personal information in screenshots.
