Gold M5 Trend Scalper
Gold M5 Trend Scalper is an automated Expert Advisor designed primarily for XAUUSD (Gold) on the M5 timeframe.
The EA follows a directional trend-based trading approach. Unlike a reversal strategy, it trades in the direction of the detected market trend:
BUY signal → BUY position
SELL signal → SELL position
The system combines multiple technical indicators and protection filters before allowing a trade.
TRADING LOGIC
The Expert Advisor analyzes completed M5 candles and uses a combination of:
- EMA 20
- EMA 50
- RSI
- ADX
- Directional Indicators (+DI / -DI)
- ATR
- Candle direction confirmation
- Spread control
- Broker trading-session control
BUY CONDITIONS
A BUY setup is considered when:
- EMA 20 is above EMA 50
- The moving averages confirm an upward trend
- RSI confirms bullish momentum
- ADX confirms sufficient trend strength
- +DI is stronger than -DI
- The completed candle confirms bullish direction
- Price closes on the appropriate side of the fast EMA
When all required conditions are satisfied, the EA can open a BUY position.
SELL CONDITIONS
A SELL setup is considered when:
- EMA 20 is below EMA 50
- The moving averages confirm a downward trend
- RSI confirms bearish momentum
- ADX confirms sufficient trend strength
- -DI is stronger than +DI
- The completed candle confirms bearish direction
- Price closes on the appropriate side of the fast EMA
When all required conditions are satisfied, the EA can open a SELL position.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The EA includes built-in risk management features.
Default settings include:
- Risk per trade: 0.50%
- Maximum lot protection: 1.00 lot
- ATR-based Stop Loss
- Risk/Reward-based Take Profit
- Default Risk/Reward ratio: 1.50
- Optional fixed lot mode
- Margin availability check
- Broker minimum stop-distance protection
The position size can be calculated automatically according to available free margin and the configured risk percentage.
DAILY PROTECTION
The Expert Advisor also includes additional account protection:
- Daily loss limit
- Default daily loss limit: 10%
- Consecutive loss monitoring
- Trading pause after 3 consecutive losing trades
- Default pause period: 90 minutes
These parameters can be adjusted by the user.
TRADING PROTECTION
Before sending an order, the EA checks:
- Whether automated trading is permitted
- Whether the symbol is available for trading
- Whether the broker's trading session is currently open
- Current spread
- Available free margin
- Minimum Stop Loss and Take Profit distances
The trading-session check is designed to prevent unnecessary order requests when the market is closed.
POSITION MANAGEMENT
The EA uses its own Magic Number to identify its trades.
By default, it allows only one position belonging to this EA on the same symbol at a time.
The system does not use:
- Martingale
- Grid
- Averaging
- Recovery lot multiplication
