Gold does not move like other markets. It spikes on geopolitical headlines, grinds sideways for days during low-volatility sessions, then explodes on a single data release. Most grid-based systems on the market were never designed for this — they use fixed pip spacing and static lot sizing that either overtrades in quiet conditions or gets shredded in volatile ones. Nomad Gold is an adaptive momentum grid system engineered exclusively for XAUUSD. Instead of trading blindly in every market condition, it only engages when a genuine trend has been confirmed, and it only ever grids in the direction of that trend — never against it. Trend Confirmation, Not Guesswork
At the core of Nomad Gold is a dual-layer trend filter. A fast and slow EMA define directional bias, while an ADX threshold confirms that the market actually has the strength to sustain a move. If ADX falls below the threshold, Nomad Gold stands down completely — no new positions are opened, no exposure is added, and the account sits flat and protected during the choppy, directionless conditions that cause most automated systems to fail. This is the difference between a system that trades constantly and a system that trades intelligently.
Volatility-Adaptive Grid Spacing
Rather than using a fixed pip distance between grid entries, Nomad Gold calculates spacing dynamically from the Average True Range. When gold volatility expands, the grid automatically widens to avoid clustering entries too close together. When volatility contracts, spacing tightens to stay responsive. This means the same underlying logic performs consistently whether gold is moving 200 pips a day or 800.
Directional Grid Logic, Not Martingale
Nomad Gold only adds new legs in the direction the trend filter has already confirmed. It is not a system that doubles down against an open loss hoping for a reversal. Each additional leg is added as price extends favorably or pulls back within the established trend, up to a maximum leg count you control. This keeps exposure aligned with market direction rather than fighting it.
Basket-Level Profit and Protection Management
Every trade opened by Nomad Gold belongs to a basket tied to its direction. The entire basket is closed together once floating profit reaches your target, locking in gains as a group rather than leaving individual trades to run independently. A basket-level protective stop is equally enforced, so losing exposure in one direction is capped and closed before it can spiral.
Account-Wide Equity Guard
Beyond basket-level management, Nomad Gold continuously monitors your account equity against your balance on every single tick. If floating losses reach a percentage threshold that you define, every open position across both directions is closed immediately and the system halts new entries. This acts as a hard circuit breaker that protects your capital regardless of what the grid logic is doing at that moment.
One-Dial Position Sizing
Position sizing is controlled through a single AutoLot Level input from 1 to 10. Rather than forcing you to calculate lot sizes manually, this single dial scales your base lot size and your basket profit/loss targets together, so risk stays proportional as you adjust your exposure level up or down.
Live Professional Dashboard
Nomad Gold includes a fully built-in on-chart dashboard that gives you real-time visibility into exactly what the system is doing and why. At a glance you can see the current trend bias, ADX strength versus your threshold, live ATR-based grid spacing, the number of active buy and sell legs, floating profit or loss for each basket, account equity versus balance, current floating risk percentage, and a clear system status indicator showing whether the EA is actively running or has halted due to the equity guard. Every value is color coded for instant readability, so there is never any ambiguity about the state of your account.
Full Parameter Control
Every component of the strategy is exposed as an input, including EMA periods, ADX period and threshold, ATR period and multiplier, maximum grid legs, lot multiplier per leg, base lot size, basket profit and loss targets, and maximum account risk percentage. This allows the system to be tuned to different account sizes, risk tolerances, and trading styles without touching a single line of code.
