Gold Alpha MT5 — Sniper-Style Liquidity Sweep EA for XAUUSD

What it does
Gold Alpha MT5 is a single-strategy expert advisor that hunts liquidity sweeps on XAUUSD (gold). It tracks the high and low of the last 24 H1 candles, waits for price to break beyond one of those extremes by even a single tick, then waits for price to close back inside the range — the classic "swing failure pattern" used by institutional traders. When that fires, it enters in the opposite direction with a tight stop loss and a large take profit, targeting a 1:50 reward-to-risk per trade.
How it works — 4 mechanical steps
- SCAN — track the high and low of the last 24 H1 candles. These are the visible liquidity zones where stops cluster.
- SWEEP — wait for price to break beyond either extreme. Smart money runs the stops here.
- REVERSE — wait for price to close back inside the range. The sweep failed; reversal is now confirmed.
- STRIKE — enter 5 split positions with fixed SL (100 points / 10 pips) and fixed TP (5,000 points / 500 pips). 1:50 R/R per trade.
No grid. No martingale. No averaging. No hedging logic. One setup, one entry, one exit.

Risk profile — please read carefully
This is a high reward-to-risk sniper strategy. By design, the win rate is low (approximately 4–6% in backtest) and losing streaks are long (up to 270 consecutive in backtest). The math works because the rare winning trades are roughly 50× the size of each losing trade — but the equity curve has long flat periods and large drawdowns before each major win recovers them.
If you cannot psychologically tolerate seeing 30%, 50%, or even 70% drawdowns in equity before recovery, this EA is not for you. Other strategies with higher win rates and smaller R/R ratios will be a better fit.
Always test on a demo account for at least 1–3 months before committing real capital, and never trade with funds you cannot afford to lose.

Recommended setup
- Symbol: XAUUSD (gold) — the EA is designed for and tested on gold only
- Chart timeframe: M15 (matches backtest); the strategy uses H1 candles internally regardless of chart timeframe
- Account type: Hedging (mandatory — the EA opens 5 split positions per signal)
- Minimum balance: $100, recommended $1,000 or more for meaningful position sizing
- Broker: a low-spread XAUUSD broker (typical spread ≤ 5 pips)
- Leverage: 1:100 or higher recommended
- VPS: recommended for 24/5 uninterrupted operation
Input parameters
- InpRiskPercent (default 0.1 ) — risk per signal as a fraction (0.1 = 1% of balance allocated across all 5 split positions)
- InpStopLoss (default 100 ) — stop loss in points (100 points = 10 pips on 2-digit gold)
- InpTP (default 5000 ) — take profit in points (5,000 points = 500 pips, gives the 1:50 R/R)
- InpLookback (default 24 ) — number of H1 candles to scan for the extreme high/low
- InpMaxPositions (default 5 ) — number of split positions per signal
- InpShowPanel (default true ) — show the on-chart dashboard
- InpVerbose (default false ) — verbose state logging to the Experts log
Defaults match the backtest configuration shown in the screenshots. Every value is exposed for your own testing.
Quick start
- Drag Gold Alpha MT5 onto an XAUUSD chart (M15 recommended)
- Enable algorithmic trading (the "Auto Trading" button on the toolbar must be green)
- Click OK on the inputs dialog (defaults are the tested configuration)
- The live dashboard appears in the top-left corner of the chart
- Engine state will read "ARMED — watching extremes" until a sweep is detected
