SemiAutoTrader is a manual trade execution and risk-management utility for MetaTrader 5.
You remain in control of the trade decision, direction, and stop-loss placement. SemiAutoTrader calculates position size from your selected risk, helps validate broker trading restrictions, and provides hotkey-based order execution and trade management.
It does not generate trading signals, predict market direction, or open trades autonomously.
How It Works

Choose a market or pending order type using its assigned hotkey

Select your risk mode and risk amount.

Position the stop-loss using the chart-based workflow.

The utility calculates the appropriate position size using the stop-loss distance and symbol specifications.

Review the displayed trade information and execute the order.

Manage the resulting position using the supported trade-management controls.

Risk-based position sizing: Choose percentage-based risk or a fixed monetary amount.

Broker-aware calculations: Uses MetaTrader's OrderCalcProfit to calculate monetary risk for the proposed trade.

Hotkey assignments use ASCII key codes, except Escape, which uses code 27. Avoid assigning the same key to multiple functions.

Risk per trade as a percentage of account balance when percentage-based risk is enabled.

Fixed monetary risk per trade, expressed in the account currency, when percentage-based risk is disabled.

EnforceMinLotSL
Blocks a trade if the requested risk would require a volume below the broker's minimum permitted lot size.
Default: true
TP_RR
Take Profit as a multiple of the stop-loss distance.
Default: 0.0
A value of 0 means no automatic Take Profit. Set a positive value to enable automatic Take Profit calculation.
Display Settings
BuyColor , SellColor , LimitColor , StopOrdColor
Configure the colours of Buy, Sell, Limit and Stop order lines.
LineWidth
Sets the thickness of entry and stop-loss lines.
Default: 2
ShowLineLabel
Controls whether chart lines display lot size and cash risk/reward information.
Default: true
ShowLivePnL
Controls whether live profit/loss is displayed next to open positions.
Default: true
PnlProfitColor , PnlLossColor
Set the colours used for live profit/loss display.
Cost Filter Settings
The cost filter is optional and is disabled by default.

Maximum slippage allowance as a percentage of stop-loss risk.

Maximum combined estimated cost as a percentage of stop-loss risk.
Default: 25.0
Values above 100 are treated as 100.
CommissionPerLot
The broker's estimated one-way commission per lot, supplied by the user.
Default: 0.0
The utility cannot automatically read every broker's commission schedule. Enter an appropriate value if commission filtering is required.
Order Settings
TradeComment
The order comment stored with each trade.
Default: SemiAutoEA
MagicNumber
Identifier used to distinguish the utility's own trades.
Default: 202401
Change this value when running separate copies that need distinct trade identification.
Slippage
Maximum permitted price deviation for market orders, expressed in points.
Default: 10
This is an execution setting, not a prediction or guarantee of actual slippage.
Safety Settings
ManageOwnTradesOnly
When enabled, trade-management actions are restricted to positions and pending orders associated with the utility's configured symbol and magic number.
Default: true
When disabled, supported management actions may also affect manual trades and trades from other EAs on the same symbol. Use this setting with care.
DisarmOnMouseLeave
When enabled, automatically cancels an armed order when the mouse leaves the chart.
Default: false
Important Limitations
SemiAutoTrader is a manual execution and trade-management utility, not an autonomous trading strategy.
It does not provide trading signals, select entries, predict market direction, or guarantee profits.
Order execution is subject to broker conditions, available margin, liquidity, spread, slippage, market gaps and symbol-specific restrictions. A stop-loss does not guarantee execution at the exact requested price.
The cost filter uses estimates and does not guarantee the final cost of execution. Percentage-based risk uses account balance, and actual results can vary with execution conditions and account specifications.
Always test the utility on a demo account and verify its behaviour with your broker before using it in live trading.
