SC-Copier Starter is the operational component of the SC-Copier system: it receives trading operations from the Master and replicates them on the Slave account.
It is installed on a second MetaTrader 5 client running on the same computer or VPS as the Master account. Communication takes place locally between the two terminals, without web services, DLLs, or external infrastructure.
The Receiver handles position openings, complete and partial closings, and Stop Loss or Take Profit modifications. Each event maintains a precise link between the Master ticket and the corresponding Slave position, allowing the entire lifecycle of the trade to be monitored and controlled.
Rapid execution, precision, and continuity
SC-Copier Starter continuously monitors the event stream generated by the Master. When the two terminals are connected, operations are processed immediately while applying the configured spread, slippage, and Slave broker condition checks.
Heartbeat, periodic snapshots, and numbered event sequences allow the Receiver to constantly verify the Master status, detect possible interruptions, and keep event processing organized.
In the event of a temporary disconnection, the system retains the information required for recovery. After reconnection, a delayed opening can be evaluated according to the distance, expressed in points, between the current price and the original Master opening price. This allows the user to avoid entering positions that have already moved too far from their original price.
Position management and orphan detection
Each copied position is linked to its corresponding Master ticket. These associations are saved and restored even after the terminal is restarted.
The reconciliation system periodically compares Master positions with those available on the Slave account. Missing positions, unrecognized links, or other divergences are reported in the logs and dashboard, preventing abnormal situations from remaining unnoticed.
Closings and Stop Loss or Take Profit modifications are not abandoned when they cannot be executed temporarily. They are stored as pending operations and retried as soon as the terminal or broker becomes available again.
Automatic Symbol Mapping
Brokers may use different names for the same instrument, for example:
XAUUSD → XAUUSD-ECN
SC-Copier Starter automatically detects the symbols available on the Slave account and creates the mapping file directly inside the terminal’s Files folder.
The file can be viewed and modified by the user. The Receiver monitors changes while running and automatically reloads the configuration, without requiring the MT5 client or Expert Advisor to be restarted.
Invalid rows are safely ignored and reported in the dedicated dashboard section, while correctly formatted mappings continue to operate normally.
Simple and flexible Overlay
The Overlay file allows specific rules to be applied to individual symbols without changing the Receiver’s general settings.
For each instrument, you can:
- completely exclude new position openings;
- apply a volume multiplier;
- use a fixed volume.
The Overlay file is also created automatically inside the terminal’s Files folder, includes instructions explaining the correct format, and is reloaded while the system is running. Every valid change becomes effective without restarting MetaTrader 5.
When a position is excluded by an Overlay rule, the dashboard reports it clearly without generating false missing-position warnings.
Safety controls
SC-Copier Starter includes several configurable protection levels:
- maximum spread limit for new openings;
- slippage and execution deviation control;
- retry window for temporary spread, quote, or requote conditions;
- maximum distance from the Master price for openings recovered after a disconnection;
- Magic Number, comment, and symbol filters;
- selective copying of Stop Loss and Take Profit;
- emergency protection based on percentage drawdown or monetary loss.
When emergency protection is triggered, the user can choose between two behaviors:
- suspend copying and close the positions;
- suspend new openings while keeping existing positions open.
Positions that have already been copied can still receive Stop Loss and Take Profit modifications and closing instructions from the Master.
Volume management
The volume of copied positions can be calculated using different methods:
- Master volume multiplier;
- fixed volume;
- risk percentage;
- proportional sizing between the accounts.
The calculated volume is adjusted to the minimum, maximum, and volume-step requirements allowed by the Slave broker.
The user can also choose how the Receiver should behave when the calculated volume is below the broker’s minimum permitted volume.
Comments and identification
SC-Copier Starter can copy the original Master position comment or use a dedicated comment.
A custom prefix of up to five characters can be added, making copied positions easier to identify in the Slave terminal and account history.
Complete dashboard
The dashboard displays the following information in real time:
- connection status with the Master;
- number of Master and Slave positions;
- Slave account balance;
- copy mode and Magic Number;
- automatic mapping status;
- active Overlay rules;
- pending operations;
- emergency protection status;
- recent activity;
- warnings requiring attention;
- currently recognized mappings and Overlay settings.
The dashboard can be minimized to occupy less space on the chart.
Requirements
SC-Copier Starter must be used together with SC-Copier Master, available directly from the MQL5 Market.
The following are required:
- two MetaTrader 5 clients running on the same Windows PC or VPS;
- both terminals running under the same Windows user account;
- SC-Copier Master on the source account;
- SC-Copier Starter on the receiving account;
- Algo Trading enabled on both terminals.
For correct copying, start both Master and Slave before opening new positions on the source account.
Operations are executed using the quotes and trading conditions available from the Slave broker. Differences in price, spread, liquidity, and symbol specifications may produce execution results that differ from those of the Master account.
