Over a decade in the markets. Now I build the tools I wanted for myself.
I make clean, simple tools for MetaTrader 5. Each one does one job and stays readable on any chart, dark or light.

Position Risk Calculator MT5
Description
Position Risk Calculator MT5 is free. Drag the Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines on the chart and read the lot size for the risk you chose. Lot, risk, R:R and margin sit in one floating panel.
Lot size from your risk
- Risk as a percent of the account or as a fixed amount. Account size from balance, equity or a number you type.
- Lot rounding: down (never above your risk), to the nearest step, or up. If rounding puts you over your risk, the risk tile says by how much (+ OVER).
- If even the smallest lot your broker allows would risk more than you chose, or is above your largest lot, there is no lot and the panel says No valid lot within your risk, with what the smallest lot would risk.
- Optional commission per lot, round trip, in the account currency (0 = not set), and a largest lot.
- If the account size is 0, there is no lot until you type an account size in the settings.
- Optional: add the spread to the stop distance. When the spread is more than 30% of the stop, the panel tells you.
Lines on the chart
- Entry, Stop Loss and up to four Take Profits. Drag any line and the lot updates.
- With Stick on, Entry follows the live price and the stop and targets stay where you put them. With Stick off, Entry stays where you put it, for a pending order. The Stick switch is on the Entry card.
- When you drag or type Entry, it stays on its side of the stop, at least one tick away.
- Flip mirrors the stop and the targets around Entry and keeps their distances; a second Flip at the same price gives the first plan back. Dragging the stop or a target across Entry also flips the trade between long and short.
- First placement: stop at 5 × ATR and the first target at 7 × ATR of the chart timeframe, drawn closer together if needed so all lines fit the visible chart; ATR period 14 by default. Both multiples are inputs. "Reset levels" puts them back.
- Optional stop from ATR, with your own multiplier, period and timeframe.
- Stop and targets are shown and typed in pips, points or price.
- A line label hides when the panel covers it. When the tool is first placed on a chart, the chart's right margin is switched on for the labels and the zone (if it was off), and switched off again when you remove it.
- On the right side of the chart, the line zone stops two bars before the drawings of some of this seller's other indicators, so the tools do not cover each other.
The panel
- Four tiles: lot, risk, R:R and margin. Margin comes from your terminal for this lot; the panel warns when free margin is not enough.
- A note row under the price cards shows the most important note in its color, with +N when there are more. A critical note also shows on the folded badge.
- With several targets, the R:R comes from the lot each target takes; a target with a 0% share takes no lot.
- Details rows: reward, pip value, spread, swap long and short, and the open risk of the account: risk at the stop of all open positions and pending orders. Those without a stop are not in that sum; hover the row to see how many there are.
- Risk profiles: Conservative 0.5%, Standard 1%, Bold 2%, and two of your own.
- Fold it to one line: "PSC 0.25 lot · 1.00% · 1:1.40 · Long".
- Panel size 60–200%. Keys: H panel, D flip, S pull the lines to the price, L lines.
- Settings and levels are kept for each chart, also after a timeframe change. Two copies on one chart keep their own lines.
Streak check
Type your win rate and the number of trades. The panel shows:
- the expected longest losing run;
- what that run would cost at your risk;
- how many losses in a row take you to a drawdown you choose.
This is plain arithmetic for independent trades. The 50% default is a coin flip. Not a forecast.
What it does not do
It only calculates. It never sends, changes or closes orders. Display only. Data, not advice.
FAQ
**Does it place trades?**
No. It reads prices, your account and your open positions, and calculates. It never sends or changes an order.
**Which symbols does it work on?**
Any symbol your terminal gives a tick value for. The pip size is found automatically; you can also set it.
**What does No valid lot within your risk mean?**
The smallest lot your broker allows would risk more than you chose, or it is above your largest lot. The panel shows what that smallest lot would risk and does not round it in.
**Where does the margin come from?**
From your terminal's own margin calculation for this lot and direction.
**What is the streak check?**
A losing run that is normal for your win rate, and what it would do to your account at your risk. It does not predict your next trade.
**Are my settings saved?**
Yes. Each chart keeps its own panel, settings and lines, also after a restart or a timeframe change.
