Full description
What it does
Aurum Trend Signals helps you find trend-following entries without staring at the chart all day. It marks a signal only when three independent conditions line up:
- Trend cross: the fast EMA crosses the slow EMA on your chart timeframe.
- Higher-timeframe agreement: the last closed bar on a higher timeframe (H4 by default) closes on the same side of its EMA. This keeps you from trading against the bigger trend.
- Momentum confirmation: RSI is on the correct side of its midline (above 50 for buys, below 50 for sells).
When all three agree, an arrow is drawn on the chart. The indicator then shows Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines for the latest signal, calculated from ATR so they adapt to current volatility.
Why traders like this approac
- No repainting. Arrows are generated on closed bars only. Once an arrow appears, it does not move or disappear.
- Fewer, cleaner signals. Requiring three conditions filters out many of the weak crosses that a plain EMA crossover gives.
- Built-in trade plan. Every signal shows a suggested entry, stop and target, so you know your risk before you click.
- Works on gold, forex and indices. ATR-based levels adapt to each instrument. It is tuned with XAUUSD in mind.
- Alerts. Popup, push notification and email, so you don't have to watch the screen.
- Lightweight. Calculates a limited history window for fast loading. No external DLLs or web requests.
What it does not do (please read)
- It does not predict the future or guarantee profit. No indicator does.
- Trend-cross methods can give losing signals in sideways or choppy markets. That is normal, and it is why position sizing and stop losses matter.
- The lines and levels are a reference for your own decision, not an automatic trading instruction.
How to use it effectively
1. Match the chart to the filter. Use a chart timeframe about 4 times lower than the filter timeframe.

Treat these as starting points to test, not optimized values.
2. Trade only when the market is moving. Trend signals work best when the market is trending. If price has been ranging between clear support and resistance for many bars, be more selective or skip signals until it breaks out.
3. Use the levels as a plan, then risk a small, fixed amount. The default stop is 1.5 x ATR and the target is 3 x ATR, a 1:2 reward-to-risk ratio. Many traders risk 0.5 to 1 percent of the account per trade. Calculate the lot size from the stop distance, not the other way round.
4. Check spread and news. Avoid entering during very wide spreads or right before high-impact news. Signals near those times are more likely to be stopped out by noise.
5. Consider the session. For gold and major pairs, the London and New York sessions generally have the most movement. Signals in thin overnight sessions can be less reliable.
6. Look for extra confirmation. Signals that also break a nearby support or resistance level, or line up with a clean pullback, are worth more attention than signals in the middle of a range.
7. Test before you trade live. Run the indicator on a demo account for a few weeks and keep a simple journal: date, symbol, entry, result and notes. You will learn how the signals behave on your instrument and timeframe.
8. Don't over-tune. If you change settings, test on one period and check on another. Settings that look perfect on past data often fail on new data.
Frequently asked questions
Does it repaint? No. Arrows are created only when a bar has closed and do not change afterwards. Note that the coloured trend line on the current, still-forming bar can change color until that bar closes, which is normal for any moving average.
Why did I get no signals for a while? Three conditions must agree at the same time. In ranging markets or when the higher timeframe disagrees, no signal is shown. This is intentional.
Can I use it on other symbols? Yes. It works on any symbol available in MT5. Levels adapt to each symbol's volatility. Always test first.
Is this an Expert Advisor? No. It is an indicator. It draws signals and levels but does not place trades.
Does it work with MT4? This version is for MetaTrader 5.
Is there a guarantee of profit? No. Trading is risky and you can lose money. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
