This indicator extends the classic Average True Range with three practical upgrades that every discretionary or systematic trader will recognise: multi-timeframe source selection, a volatility spike alert engine, and a normalized percent display mode.

It is built from scratch on top of MT5's built-in iATR handle, with multi-timeframe alignment via causal timestamp lookup, multi-channel alert dispatch, and per-bar deduplication wrapped into a single drop-in package.

Features:

  1. Multi-Timeframe (MTF) source. Pick any timeframe from M1 to MN1 as the ATR source while keeping the indicator on your working chart. Higher-TF ATR is aligned to the chart bar by causal timestamp lookup, so no future leakage occurs.
  2. Volatility Spike Alerts. The indicator continuously tracks the ratio between the current ATR value and a configurable rolling average (default 50 bars). When the ratio exceeds your spike factor (default 2.0), a popup, push notification, or email alert is fired exactly once per closed bar.
  3. Normalized Percent Mode. Toggle between raw price units and percent of current price. The percent mode is invaluable when comparing volatility regimes across instruments with very different price scales, such as EURUSD versus XAUUSD versus US30.
  4. Visible Spike Threshold. A dotted red reference line plots the active spike threshold in the same units as the ATR plot, so you can visually confirm where the next alert will fire.
  5. Independent alert channels. Popup, push, and email can each be toggled on or off. Per-bar deduplication ensures every spike fires exactly once.
  6. Input safety. ATR period, baseline lookback, and spike factor are clamped to safe defaults if the user enters non-positive values, so the indicator keeps running without manual recovery.

How to use:

  1. Drop on any chart, choose your source timeframe and ATR period (default 14).
  2. Set the spike factor and rolling baseline window to match your style. Lower values are more sensitive, higher values fire only on extreme regime shifts.
  3. Enable popup, push, or email channels independently.
  4. Use the dotted red threshold line to visually confirm where the next alert will fire.

Recommended on XAUUSD M15 for volatility-regime tracking, but the indicator is symbol-agnostic and works on any instrument and timeframe.
