ICT Inversion Fair Value Gap IFVG Honest Stats MT4
- Indicatori
- Versione: 1.0
See which fair value gaps flipped sides. This indicator marks every inversion fair value gap (IFVG) - a gap that a candle closed straight through - signals and alerts when price comes back to it and respects it, and checks on your own chart what price did next.
ICT Inversion Fair Value Gap IFVG Honest Stats finds fair value gaps, waits for a candle to close through one and turns it into an inversion gap on the other side: a bearish gap closed above becomes bullish support, a bullish gap closed below becomes bearish resistance. When price comes back into the IFVG and closes out of it again, you get an arrow and an alert. Free, part of the Honest Stats series.

What it draws
- Fair value gaps: a gap between candle 1 and candle 3 of at least 0.1 x ATR(14) (ATR = the average size of one candle)
- The inversion: a later candle closes through the far side of the gap (within 300 candles). A bearish gap closed above turns into a bullish IFVG (support), a bullish gap closed below into a bearish IFVG (resistance)
- The IFVG zone in its new colour, from the candle that closed through the gap to now (very tall zones as an outline, so they don't hide the candles)
- The signal: price comes back into the IFVG within 50 candles and closes out of it on its side - an arrow on that candle, one signal per IFVG
- An IFVG that price closes back through has failed: it stays as a grey outline up to that candle (or switch the failed ones off)
- The last 500 candles by default
The panel
- Live IFVGs: how many bullish and bearish ones are still in play
- "Price is inside a bullish IFVG ..." when the last close sits in one
- The last inversion and the last signal, with how many candles ago
- Which signal is on: the retest (default) or the inversion candle itself
Alerts
- A signal: direction and IFVG prices (on by default)
- A gap closed through, so a new IFVG (off by default)
- Popup, sound, push to the MetaTrader app on your phone, e-mail
The honest stats table
The table uses every closed candle loaded on the chart. For bullish and bearish IFVGs:
- Gaps closed through (IFVGs) and the signals they gave
- Then price went 1.0 ATR its way first: from the signal candle's close, did price move 1 x ATR(14) in the signal's direction before it moved 1 x ATR against it (within 50 candles)?
- From a random candle, same direction: the same question from three random earlier candles per signal - the base rate of the market
- Difference: signal minus random, in percentage points
- Under the table: how many gaps were found and what share of them was closed through
When the difference is bigger than luck alone could produce (95% range), it turns green and a green line under the table says so.
Why the random candles matter
Markets drift, so "price went up after a bullish signal" can simply be the trend of that period. Random candles in the same direction show that base rate, so you see what the IFVG adds on top of it.
Test it on your own chart
Every market, timeframe and setting behaves differently. Switch the signal between the retest and the inversion candle, change the gap size, how long a gap may wait or the timeframe, and the table shows at once how inversion gaps do on your symbol - real numbers instead of guesswork.
Want every ICT idea in one indicator?
ICT Pro All in One Honest Stats adds market structure, order blocks, fair value gaps, premium / discount and OTE, liquidity sweeps, killzones and SMT into one confluence score, with alerts and a multi-symbol scanner.
How to use it
- Any timeframe from M1 to monthly, any symbol: indices, gold, forex, crypto
- MetaTrader 4 loads only part of the history at first (often around 2,000 candles). Scroll the chart back (Home key) and raise Tools > Options > Charts > Max bars in chart for a bigger test
- Hover over a zone or an arrow to see its prices and when the gap was closed through
- Pair it with the free FVG Honest Stats to see the gaps before they invert
Limitations
- A gap is known only when its third candle closes, an inversion only when the closing candle closes, a signal only when the retest candle closes. Signals and the table use only what was known at each candle's close - they are never repainted
- The test uses candle highs and lows. Inside one candle the order of moves is unknown, so a candle that reaches both distances is left out
- Past behaviour does not guarantee future behaviour. This is a drawing and measuring tool, not a trading signal
Inputs
- Gaps: smallest gap 0.1 ATR(14), a gap can invert within 300 candles
- Signal: the retest (price comes back to the IFVG and closes out of it) or the inversion candle; the retest may come within 50 candles
- Drawing: last 500 candles, failed IFVGs on/off, colours
- Alerts: signal, new IFVG; popup, sound, push, e-mail
- Honest test: distance 1.0 ATR(14), candles to decide 50
- Panel and table on/off, corners, font size
