The EA opens a single position, then answers every adverse move with an opposite position of larger size. Each new level sits one fixed distance away from the previous entry, so the basket swings from one side to the other like a pendulum until the market moves far enough in one direction to close the whole basket in profit. It does not predict direction. It reacts to distance travelled.
The system combines a directional entry rule, a fixed-distance hedge ladder, a lot multiplier, basket take profit, trailing stop and a full set of execution controls. It is designed to manage an open basket rather than to search for signals.

RECOMMENDED TRADING CONDITIONS
- Pendulum Hedge MT5 holds positions through adverse movement by design, so swap, spread and margin conditions matter more than execution speed. A Raw Spread or Raw ECN account with low swap is strongly recommended.
- All distances are expressed in pips and adapted automatically to the number of decimals used by your broker. On a 3-digit or 5-digit quote the EA uses the standard pip. On instruments quoted with a different number of decimals it falls back to the point size of that symbol, so the same input value represents a different distance. Check the resulting hedge distance and take profit distance on your own symbol before increasing volume.
- Run a MetaTrader 5 backtest using the "Every tick based on real ticks" model before increasing the trading volume. Results can differ between brokers because of spread, swap, commission, symbol specifications, execution speed, liquidity and slippage.

The default distances are sized for gold. On other instruments they must be adjusted before use. On a 5-digit forex pair the default hedge distance of 1000 pips and take profit of 2500 pips are far too wide to ever trigger.
RISK MANAGEMENT
Pendulum Hedge MT5 increases position size at every hedge level. This is the central risk of the product and it must be understood before use.
With a lot multiplier of 3.0 and a starting volume of 0.01 lot, the ladder develops as follows:
- Level 1: 0.01 lot
- Level 2: 0.03 lot
- Level 3: 0.09 lot
- Level 4: 0.27 lot
- Level 5: 0.81 lot
- Level 6: 2.43 lot
- Level 7: 7.29 lot
- Level 8: 21.87 lot
- Level 9: 65.61 lot
- Level 10: 196.83 lot
Because each level opens on the opposite side, the net exposure grows at roughly the same rate. After level 5 the net exposure already stands at 0.61 lot in the current direction, from a starting position of 0.01 lot.
The default limit of 15 positions is far beyond what any realistic account can support. At level 15 the required volume reaches 47,829 lots. The EA caps each order at the broker maximum volume and refuses any order that fails the free margin check, but by that stage the account is already exposed far beyond a recoverable level. Set the maximum number of positions to a value your balance can actually survive.
- A maximum of 4 to 6 positions is a far more realistic starting point than the default.
- A multiplier of 1.5 to 2.0 extends the survivable ladder considerably compared with 3.0.
- Set the lot multiplier to 1.0 for a flat-size hedge ladder with no size escalation.
- The floating cutloss is the only hard stop on the basket. Set it to a percentage you are genuinely prepared to lose, and verify that it triggers correctly in the tester before live use.
- Take profit is not attached to the orders on the server. It is evaluated by the EA on each tick. If the terminal is closed or the connection is lost, the basket will not close. A VPS close to the broker's trading server is required for unattended operation.
- The trailing stop applies only while a single position is open. Once the ladder starts, no stop loss protects the individual positions.
- New users should begin on a demo account or with the minimum volume until they understand the EA's ladder behaviour and drawdown profile.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- The EA does not guarantee profits. Historical tests and previous results do not guarantee future performance.
- Backtest results may differ from live trading because of spread, swap, commission, latency, slippage, liquidity and broker execution.
- This EA uses hedging with an increasing lot size. A sustained one-directional move can consume a large part of an account, and in the worst case all of it. The strategy has no fixed stop loss on individual positions. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
- Always test the EA under your own broker conditions before increasing the lot size or risk.
- For stable operation, MetaTrader 5 and Algo Trading must remain active.
