Core Trading ConceptQuantum Apex uses a Williams %R (WPR) based entry logic to identify overbought and oversold market conditions. Once an initial trade is opened, the EA manages positions using a limited grid system with controlled spacing between entries.
Instead of closing trades individually, Quantum Apex uses a basket profit strategy:
-
All positions on one side (BUY or SELL) are closed together when the total combined profit reaches the target.
-
The profit target is automatically scaled based on the current lot size.
-
This allows the EA to adapt naturally as the account grows or shrinks.
==== DYNAMIC LOT SETTINGS ====
These variables control how the Expert Advisor (EA) determines the size of each trade.
-
Use $300 = 0.01 Rule (UseAutoLot): When set to true, the EA automatically increases your lot size based on your account balance. For every $300 in your account, it will add 0.01 lots.
-
Used if AutoLot is false (FixedLotSize): If you turn off the $300 rule, the EA will strictly use this fixed value (e.g., 0.01) for every initial trade.
-
Hard cap for safety (MaxLotLimit): This is a critical safety valve. It sets the absolute maximum lot size the EA is allowed to open, regardless of how large your account grows. This helps prevent hitting the broker's volume limits.
-
BasketProfitTarget: This defines the profit amount (in currency) required to close a "basket" or group of grid trades. Once the total profit of all open positions for a side (Buy or Sell) reaches this value, they are all closed.
These settings define the behavior of the "recovery" or grid system when a trade goes against you.
-
MaxTradesPerSide: This limits the total number of open positions allowed at one time for either the Buy side or the Sell side. Your current screenshot shows this set to 100, which is very high and likely contributing to volume limit errors; reducing this (e.g., to 15) is safer for MQL5 validation.
-
GridStepPoints: This is the minimum distance (in points) the price must move against your last trade before the EA is allowed to open another grid position.
These variables control the "Williams' Percent Range" (WPR) indicator, which the EA uses to find entry points.
-
WPR_Period: The number of bars the indicator looks back at to calculate overbought or oversold conditions.
-
WPR_Overbought: The upper threshold (e.g., -20). If the indicator is above this, the market is considered overbought, and the EA looks for Sell opportunities.
-
WPR_Oversold: The lower threshold (e.g., -80). If the indicator is below this, the market is considered oversold, and the EA looks for Buy opportunities.
-
MaxDrawdownHalt: This is your "circuit breaker." If your account's floating drawdown (as a percentage of balance) reaches this level, the EA will stop opening new trades to protect your remaining capita
Happy Trades
