SuperTrendNew 2.0 is a clean, non-repainting SuperTrend indicator for MetaTrader 5. It draws one trend line you can actually trade from, marks every reversal with an arrow, tells you about it by popup, sound and mobile push, and keeps a live dashboard on the chart with the trend state, the line price, the distance to the line in points and in ATR, and the age of the current trend.

Free, no time limit, no ad banner on your chart.

What is new in 2.0

Version 1.1 has been on the Market since January 2022. Several of you left reviews asking for the same thing: alerts and notifications. They are here.

- Alerts on every trend reversal: terminal popup, sound (a terminal sound per direction), and push notification to the MetaTrader 5 app on your phone.
- Every signal written to the Experts log with symbol, timeframe, direction, price, trend line level and bar time. Nothing already on the chart alerts when you attach - only what happens after that.
- Non-repainting mode: signals are confirmed on the closed bar by default. Live-bar mode is still available when you want the earliest possible signal.
- Two more engines beside the classic one: an SMA-based basis and a classic CCI-direction version.
- On-chart dashboard: trend state, trend line price, distance in points and in ATR, trend age in bars, last signal and its time. Dark or light theme, any corner, your font size.
- Buffers 4 and 5 (trend line value and direction +1 / -1) exposed so any Expert Advisor can read the trend with two CopyBuffer calls.
- Buffers 0 to 3 unchanged and in the old order, and the file is still named SuperTrend - anything you built against 1.x keeps working.
- Rebuilt calculation core: correct incremental recalculation, no gaps between the two coloured line segments, direction always exactly +1 or -1.

If you had version 1.1, just update. Your chart template still loads.

Features

- Three trend engines: Standard (median price with Wilder ATR bands, the classic ratcheting SuperTrend), SMA based (the same bands around a simple moving average of the close), CCI direction (direction from a CCI crossing your trigger level, the band only trails).
- Non-repainting signal option: confirmation on the closed bar (default) or on the live bar.
- Reversal arrows with your own Wingdings codes and distance from the candle.
- Alerts: terminal popup, sound per direction, push notification to your phone, Experts log line.
- On-chart dashboard: symbol and timeframe, BULLISH / BEARISH badge, trend line price, distance in points and ATR, trend age, last signal with time.
- Works on any symbol and any timeframe; "Bars to calculate" keeps old, heavy charts fast.
- Every input name, order and default is identical to Nomad SuperTrend Pro, so a .set file saved here loads there unchanged.

How to trade it

1. Pick the side. Line below price and green: longs only. Line above price and red: shorts only. The dashboard badge says which.
2. Wait for the arrow. With "Closed bar" confirmation an arrow appears only after the bar that caused the flip has closed, so what you see in history is what you would have got live.
3. Use the line as the stop. It only moves in the direction of the trend, so it is already a trailing stop; many traders exit on the opposite arrow instead.
4. Size with the ATR reading. A fresh signal with a small ATR distance is a tight stop; a late entry deep into a trend shows a large one.
5. Check "Trend age": a two-bar-old trend and a ninety-bar-old trend are different trades.
6. Align two timeframes: trade only in the direction of the higher timeframe chart. Nomad SuperTrend Pro does this on one chart.

A starting point, not a recommendation: Standard, ATR period 10, multiplier 3.0 on H1 and above. Test on your own symbol and broker data before risking money.

For EA developers

Buffers: 0 up line, 1 down line, 2 buy arrow, 3 sell arrow (same order as 1.x), 4 trend line value on every bar, 5 direction exactly +1 / -1. The Market copy is named "Market\SuperTrend".
Warning: every "input group" line occupies one iCustom() parameter slot - 38 inputs and 6 groups make 44 parameters; pass a 0 for each group, in order, or every value after the first group lands one slot out. The sound inputs are enums, so every parameter can be passed as a plain number.

About the PRO inputs

Both editions are built from one source, which is why you can see inputs labelled "PRO only" here. In this free edition those switches are accepted and held off - nothing breaks, and the free feature set works exactly as described. The six-timeframe row in the dashboard is drawn greyed out and marked PRO on purpose. Switch a PRO input on and the indicator prints one line in the Experts log naming what you asked for. That is the whole nag.

Honest limits

This is an indicator, not a trading system: it opens no orders. SuperTrend is trend-following and flips repeatedly in a sideways market; a larger multiplier only slows that down. No profit claims, win rates or backtest numbers are given here, because none would be verifiable for your broker, spread and symbol. Alerts need the terminal running and connected; push needs your MetaQuotes ID in Tools > Options > Notifications.
