I build and test automated trading systems for Nasdaq-100 futures (MNQ, NQ) and NAS100 CFDs on MetaTrader 5. - Version: 1.1
- Mise à jour: 20 octobre 2026
- Activations: 10
Opening Bell Algo for MT5 trades Micro E-mini and E-mini Nasdaq-100 futures (MNQ, NQ) with two independent strategies that share one position:
- Strategy 1, trend. Enters in the direction of a confirmed multi-timeframe trend during the European and US sessions, with a fixed stop loss and take profit. Entries are blocked when momentum is stretched or the market is too quiet.
- Strategy 2, New York opening range breakout. Measures the first minutes after the 9:30 New York open and trades a breakout of that range, with a stop at the other side of the range. Flat by 15:55 New York.
What it does not do: no grid, no martingale, no averaging into losses, no hedging of its own positions, one position at a time. It never moves a stop further away.
Requirements
- A broker that offers CME Nasdaq-100 futures in MetaTrader 5 (MNQ or NQ). Netting or hedging account.
- The program recognises the symbol by itself: MNQ and NQ futures, and Nasdaq-100 CFDs under the usual names (NAS100, US100, USTEC and others). Results on CFDs are still being tested.
- The chart of the current contract. When the contract rolls (March, June, September, December), move the program to the new contract.
- A VPS is recommended, because the program must be running to manage its positions.
Main inputs
- Strategy 1 on/off, Strategy 2 on/off. Stops, targets and trading hours are fixed: they are the tested rules.
- Money management: fixed lots (default: 1 MNQ contract, or $2 per index point on a CFD), risk % of balance, or a fixed amount at risk. Always rounded down to the broker's lot step, never above the chosen risk; if even the smallest lot would risk more, the trade is skipped and the panel says why.
- Prop firm limits: max daily loss and minimum equity (off by default).
- Broker clock (automatic by default). Status panel in any corner of the chart.
Backtest. MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, real ticks, 11 quarterly MNQ contracts from April 2024 to October 2026, 1 contract, with commissions of $2.00 per round turn:
- Net profit $27,229.00, profit factor 1.30, maximum drawdown $2,483.00.
- Win rate about 41%. Longest losing streak: 15 trades. Losing months: 9 of 31.
- Cautious scenario with one tick of slippage on every entry and exit: net $25,744.00, drawdown $2,627.00.
- One day (9 April 2025) produced about 13% of the net result.
Live test. Since 19 October 2026 a real account runs the same rules with default settings, 1 MNQ contract, no manual intervention.
Risk. Futures are leveraged and you can lose more than your deposit. About 59% of trades lose; the result depends on a minority of larger winners, and there were losing months and long losing streaks in the backtest. Only trade money you can afford to lose. This program is software, not investment advice.
HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. UNLIKE AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE RECORD, SIMULATED RESULTS DO NOT REPRESENT ACTUAL TRADING. ALSO, SINCE THE TRADES HAVE NOT BEEN EXECUTED, THE RESULTS MAY HAVE UNDER-OR-OVER COMPENSATED FOR THE IMPACT, IF ANY, OF CERTAIN MARKET FACTORS, SUCH AS LACK OF LIQUIDITY. SIMULATED TRADING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFIT OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN.
Try before you buy. The free demo runs in the Strategy Tester. Use real ticks and your broker's commission to see the result at your broker.
