This Expert Advisor is built and calibrated for Gold (XAUUSD). It does not open trades when attached to a different symbol (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc.); this is a built-in safety restriction.

Overview

GoldEdge VWAP Bounce is a rules-based Expert Advisor built for XAUUSD. Its logic was developed and tested using historical price data.

The Expert Advisor is designed around a mean-reversion approach anchored to the session's Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP). A trade is only opened after price has clearly approached this reference level from one side, tested it, and shown a confirmed reaction back in the original direction, rather than reacting to a single touch.

Entry logic

GoldEdge VWAP Bounce does not open a trade on every bar. Before a position is opened, the Expert Advisor requires three conditions to align: a clear prior trend, where price has stayed on one side of the daily VWAP for a minimum number of bars before the setup is considered; a controlled deviation, where price moves to the VWAP and slightly beyond it but only within a volatility-adjusted limit, otherwise the move is treated as a breakout rather than a bounce; and a two-step confirmation, where the reaction candle must close back on its original side of VWAP and the following candle must break beyond that reaction candle's extreme before a position is opened.

Because of this strict, multi-step confirmation process, this Expert Advisor is selective by design. Some days produce a setup, others do not.

Trade management

The Stop Loss is set based on recent market volatility rather than a fixed distance. Depending on the settings chosen, position size is either calculated from a risk percentage and the distance to the Stop Loss for that trade, or set as a fixed lot size. Each signal is split into three separate targets, so parts of the position can close at different levels instead of all at once. After the first target is reached, the Stop Loss on the remaining positions is moved to the entry price plus a small buffer, to help account for trading costs. If the terminal disconnects or restarts, GoldEdge VWAP Bounce reloads its saved state and checks what happened while it was offline.

The Expert Advisor does not use grid or martingale techniques, and does not use unlimited recovery cycles. Each position is sized and managed independently from entry to exit.

How it works

Attach GoldEdge VWAP Bounce to an XAUUSD chart and set the desired risk percentage or fixed lot size. The Expert Advisor tracks the daily VWAP and monitors price on each new M15 bar. When a valid setup and its two-step confirmation are met, GoldEdge VWAP Bounce calculates position size and opens a position split across three targets. Each position is managed automatically, including the Stop Loss adjustment after the first target.
