Discussion of article "Andrey Bolkonsky (abolk): "Any programmer knows that there is no software without bugs""

New article Andrey Bolkonsky (abolk): "Any programmer knows that there is no software without bugs" is published:

Andrey Bolkonsky (abolk) has been participating in the Jobs service since its opening. He has developed dozens of indicators and Expert Advisors for the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms. We will talk with Andrey about what a server is from the perspective of a programmer.

when the contractor, having studied the technical task, agrees to the specified price, an agreement is made with him, and the other candidates ready to do the work are refused, and later he says that a lot of time has been spent and the work is not visible and insists on paying several times the originally agreed amount.

later he says that a lot of time has been spent, and the work does not see the end and insists on additional payment several times higher than the originally agreed amount, it is not good. At the same time the Customer who paid /froze/ the money in advance loses time waiting for the fulfilment of TOR and part of the money, getting unfinished code in return.

It is very bad that in the "Work" section there is no possibility to give feedback to programmers on the results of not completed tasks. Look, everyone has not a single negative one.

It is strange that the organisers did not ask the leaders of the top developers, for example, such an obvious question:

From the top of your professional experience, what would you advise a newcomer to service "work"?

Why obvious? Because articles related to the service work, will surely be read by those who want to try themselves in this field.

"Work honestly", "in no case do not dumping!", "do not corrupt customers", etc. All right. That's a fair market response. Sounds like "you better get out of here, boy." Work somewhere else.

Although, here on the forum there were words in support of us, programmers, we will keep the bar - there will be income, union, set prices. Good. Have you seen how taxi drivers work?

2 patterns of behaviour: A - wild. A client comes with suitcases, a terrible dumping starts, everyone yells, offers a service. Here it is clear that it is necessary to earn money. Therefore, either those who offer less or those who look more reliable will make money. Practice shows that more often the client is led to the price, and sometimes tries to beat out the minimum price, seeing such a bazaar.

B - organised. There are cars, no one shouts, the price is a clear agreement. The client comes and leaves with the taxi driver whose turn it was, or with the taxi driver whose car he liked a lot.

What do you think, what kind of organisation scheme is similar to freelance service?

In this respect, the organisers of freelance services occupy a middle position - a semi-wild organisation. And newcomers are let in - honestly - you don't know who (maybe he doesn't have a licence), and you can't punish them for dumping (beat them up). But to somehow distinguish those who "could" show the result, who could how much. And even with reviews. This is usually enough to proudly be called an executor. But on this service, so far, to get into the only essentially visible list of performers "can" 1 time is not enough, you need to start from scratch, work so fast to slightly overtake those who work leisurely for about a year (further - more).

We have already considered the advice to stay on the sidelines and not to shout ridiculous prices. But what does a newcomer need? Perhaps he needs income (or food), or practice (training on cats) or to make a portfolio - doing orders even for free (there is such a thing). Either way, he needs to get an order.

It would be interesting to hear what first steps in terms of getting orders the top leaders would advise.

what do you think MQL4 programmers were doing when the MQL5 forum didn't even exist?
if you want to be an MQL software developer, just be one. (this is advice to newcomers)

It is strange that the organisers did not, for example, ask the leaders of the top developers such an obvious question:

From the top of your professional experience, what would you advise a newcomer to the service "work"?

- The administration asked questions according to the "top" to the first three.
- I have already expressed my thoughts that the "top" does not say anything.
- specify your classification of a "newcomer".
- many very well-known and in-demand specialists are completely outside the "top" and are not going to be in the "top".
- the "top" is not a top. survey mql4/5 developers and you will find out that the "top" is not even "next to them", in terms of quantity/severity/reviews/quality/quantity.
- look at the reviews of the participants of the "top" from the same "regular" customer and you will see the obvious "tweaks".

in general, there are a lot of shortcomings of the Work service, but the point is not in the shortcomings, but in a huge and sincere desire of the administration to fix and correct them ALL.

the main advantage of the Work service today is a guaranteed source of income, whether you want it or not, but in the Internet to find a guaranteed and safe income - it is a serious and unsolvable problem - the service Work + Arbitrage this problem solves (tested).

if you want specific recommendations, then:
1) participate in the forum
2) write to the code-base(https://www.mql5.com/ru/code or https://www.mql5.com/r u/code/mt4)
3) write articles(https://www.mql5.com/ru/articles or https://www.mql5.com/en/ar ticles/mt4) - by the way, the administration pays from $200 per article - you find someone who pays at least 0.1 cent per article
4) answer questions to newbies
5) and people/customers will reach out to you themselves.

so, correctly said that the service Work - not a panacea - but the administration makes not just maximum, but even more efforts to make the service adequate, in demand and unique in its kind.

Beginner is the one who customers bypass - you see them a lot, come, poke and go they do not work, although constantly leave requests. In this regard, the service is unfriendly. That's all I wanted to say.

Yes, the main thing is to give the right vector in the job search :)

What does the service have to do with it?
Bring your customer to the service: the presence of Arbitration protects not only the customer, but you as well.
Or do you not need a guarantee of contract security?
Be active: submit an application and address the customer directly.

And in general, no order - less "headaches" - "if a woman leaves you, you don't know who is lucky" (c).

Yes and in general, no order - less "headache" - "if a woman leaves you, it is unknown who is lucky" (c).

I, for example, do not like the service at all, some confirmations, stupid steps, other nonsense, for the sake of what? pathetic even $ 200 even with a serious order? It is not serious. Even if the client is afraid of the first time and very cautious, prepay 50% with a protection code, on completion I give to poke the owl on his computer through TeamViewer, after full payment I send and no problems.

I provide services to clients bypassing the service, so here I have 0 of them, although in fact it is through mql5 job for more than a dozen, and everyone is satisfied.

Dumping in general delivers.
