What would it take to get everyone to finally switch to MT5? (collecting opinions) - page 51

xxz:

Not really, Mt5 platform is sweet but slow and sometimes boorish, Mt4 is fast and well designed in terms of interface, but lacks some of the sweetness of Mt5...

What should be done to make everyone migrate to MT5? (collecting opinions)

Here's the proof as promised....

some explanations: in fours Expert properties-optimization tab-maximum drawdown-70%...

in five leave only one agent...

timeframe - 1m, at opening prices...

optimization period at your discretion, EURJPY currency pair...

hope to share results and impressions)

how many times is five slower than four)

Don't you think I don't know MT5 and have nothing better to do than compare it?

I wrote my opinion above - I like both MT4 and MT5.

;)

I don't think so either. If I ever decide to learn real exchange trading, I will demand my broker to have MT5, and only MT5... I don't like Quiks, Ninzies and other ones.

For now it's more convenient to use classic forex with MT4. In general, both platforms are ideal for working on exchange as well as for the OTC market.

Then don't question what I'm saying...

that MT5 is several times slower...

Or do you only use the fastest two plus two...

Renat Akhtyamov:

I've been walking around this thread and haven't been able to figure out what's not logical.

Finally a conclusion:

First of all, no one is forcing us to switch and in principle nothing needs to be done.

Some like MT5, some like MT4

...

The company has chosen MT5 and has a policy of replacing MT4, so I, too, have to make the difficult choice to switch to a new platform. MT4 is objectively outdated and the process of its departure is inexorable, and what happens when the old is gone and the new does not take its place? Look at animal movies - lions for example - territory is conquered by the most viable individuals.

The world is the same jungle and the laws are the same, although the wrapping is more complicated. I'm just looking ahead.

Let's say I want to try a strategy on ticks. MT4 will not do.

Suppose I want to test a multi-currency strategy. МТ4 will not fit.

It may be slow for testing these strategies but there are many times more operations and their processing.

So, everything is relative.

Let's say there are 28 pairs.

We should multiply one-currency testing in MT4 by 28 and compare it with MT5, for that matter.

Think about another question. Can you imagine how many products are sold in the market. Tens of millions, maybe hundreds. If you shut down 4K, there'd be a flurry of lawsuits. Loss of reputation. Who will compensate for the losses? MKL is potentially bankrupt and we won't have a 4 or 5. Shall we go for ninzia?

So there will be a compromise option to combine the two platforms by providing the ability to work with mql4 files in MT5. Technically it is quite within the power of MKL. And I think that those who will use MT4 will eventually reach 1/3 of all users....how popular will be the MQL5 language and services inside the updated terminal is a question...but the universal Five will probably be used by the majority.

or are you only using who is faster at adding two plus two...

My observations suggest otherwise: MT5 is an order of magnitude faster than MT4.
