Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean it compares it to a constant of 0. So, both the signal line and the execute line are Hull moving averages? Do you know how they are calculated. Personally, knowing how an indicator is calculated helps me figure out how to use it much better. Thanks for your help.
Yes, they are Hulls'. Slope & Big trend lines are as well. "HMA Russian" to be precise. Same formula as a standard Hull, but with the color code fiddling.

no problem mPower....
step 1) - using a formula based on a weighted moving average, a value is calculated and saved for each bar
step 2) - the resulting data has another moving average performed on it
step 3) - the resulting moving average is filtered to determine the trend. The line placement is then done.. line up or down
step 4) - the new trend is compared to the old trend, and color set accordingly... same as before or change.
My guess is that because 2 moving average calculations are done, the indicator gives two visual clues about the trend/reversal direction or reversal. I can't give a mathematical representation of what is happening, only the logical.

For what it's worth, imho, Igor makes this system so brutally simple and powerful, that for the first time in my trading career, I am comfortable just standing back and watching for the patterns.... they work.

The HMA (Hull Moving Average) is an extemely fast Moving Average, originally developed by Australian Technical Analyst Alan Hull you will find plenty about it on Google

Yes, this Hull MA is called "Russian" because the programmer who ported it to MT4 with the color version was russian, I think. Igorad improved it (i think him also is russian).
And indeed there are many smart russians. And among the best writers as well, in my view.
