Trading evaluations and funded accounts come with hard limits: a daily loss limit, a maximum drawdown and often a profit target. Break a limit and the account is gone. Prop Gauge is a panel that shows, on one screen, how far you are from each limit, and acts before you cross it. It does not open trades and does not generate signals. It only monitors and protects.
The panel at a glance
-
Preset and status. 2. Equity, the base of the daily loss. 3. Daily loss with amount, % of the limit, room left and the floor. 4. Maximum drawdown, static or trailing. 5. Profit target and distance to go. 6. Today, total and trading days against the minimum. The bars are green, turn amber once the first threshold is passed and red after the second. You see the distance to the red line without doing any arithmetic.
Three limits
-
Daily loss: measured on equity (floating P/L included) or on balance, from a reset time you choose (server midnight or a custom hour).
-
Maximum drawdown: static, trailing, or trailing updated at end of day.
-
Profit target: progress and distance, plus trading days against the required minimum. Limits are a percentage of your initial balance or a money amount. Presets: FTMO 2-Step (Challenge, Verification, Funded), FTMO 1-Step, and Custom. Preset values come from public information at release; compare them with your firm's current rules and use Custom if they differ. Prop Gauge is not affiliated with any prop firm.
Three protection stages
Thresholds are a percentage of each limit; defaults are 60 / 80 / 95 and all three can be changed.

-
Alert: popup and sound.
-
Block new trades: pending orders are deleted, and any position opened after the lock is closed immediately.
-
Close all: all pending orders deleted, all positions closed. Locks survive restarts and chart changes. A daily-loss lock is released at the next daily reset; a drawdown lock stays until you press Unlock and confirm.
When the panel is small
The arrow in the title bar folds the panel into one bar: shield, D (daily loss %), DD (drawdown %) and T (target %).

What it does not do
-
Protection works only while the EA is attached and the terminal is connected with Algo Trading enabled. Remove the EA, close the terminal, lose the VPS connection or let the computer sleep, and nothing is protected.
-
Orders cannot be closed while the market is closed; the EA warns and retries.
-
On netting accounts, adding to an existing position is not seen as a new trade at stage 2. Stage 3 is not affected.
-
Slippage, gaps and delays happen, so a limit can still be breached. This is a monitoring aid, not investment advice.
