Why Broker Execution Matters for MoonDog EA

MoonDog EA trades XAUUSD breakouts using pending orders. For this type of strategy, choosing the right broker is extremely important.

Two traders can use the same EA and the same SET but obtain different results because every broker has different:

  • XAUUSD spreads;
  • commissions;
  • liquidity;
  • execution speed;
  • entry and exit slippage;
  • pending-order activation;
  • Stop Loss execution;
  • symbol specifications;
  • server time and trading sessions.

A broker with excessive slippage can reduce profitable trades, increase losses and materially change the performance of a breakout strategy.

I have no affiliation, partnership or financial agreement with any broker listed in this article.

All links below are clean official website links. They are not affiliate or referral links, and I receive no commission if somebody opens an account.

Global Prime is listed first because it is the broker I personally use with MoonDog. The other recommended brokers are currently being used by friends or MoonDog users in my circle, who have reported satisfactory operation and execution.

These observations are based on personal experience and user feedback. They are not guarantees of future performance.

Recommended Brokers

1. Global Prime — My Primary Recommendation

Official website:
https://globalprime.com/

Global Prime is the broker I personally use as my live reference for MoonDog.

MoonDog is currently operating well in my setup, making Global Prime the first broker I would evaluate for traders seeking conditions reasonably close to mine.

Identical results cannot be guaranteed because account entity, server location, liquidity, latency and market conditions can differ between clients.

2. FP Markets — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.fpmarkets.com/

FP Markets is recommended for evaluation using a Raw-style account.

It supports MetaTrader 5 and offers account structures designed around tighter spreads and commission-based trading. Verify the current XAUUSD specifications available under your jurisdiction.

3. Tickmill — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.tickmill.com/

Tickmill is another recommended Raw-account alternative.

Its official account information includes MT5, commission-based Raw pricing and a minimum volume of 0.01 lot in applicable regions. Always measure the actual XAUUSD spread and slippage before increasing risk.

4. VT Markets — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.vtmarkets.com/

VT Markets is recommended for evaluation using a Raw ECN account.

Users in my circle have reported that MoonDog operates correctly under their tested conditions. Confirm the account entity, commission and XAUUSD contract specifications before trading live.

5. TMGM — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.tmgm.com/

TMGM is recommended for evaluation with its EDGE account.

Users in my circle have reported satisfactory MoonDog operation. Remember to evaluate the complete trading cost, including spread, commission and actual slippage.

6. IC Trading — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.ictrading.com/

IC Trading is recommended for controlled evaluation with a Raw-style account.

Before increasing risk, verify its XAUUSD contract size, server time, commission and pending-order execution on the exact account you intend to use.

7. STARTRADER — Recommended

Official website:
https://www.startrader.com/

STARTRADER is recommended for evaluation with an ECN-style account.

Users in my circle have reported satisfactory operation, but every new account should still begin with conservative risk until execution quality has been confirmed.

Brokers Not Recommended for MoonDog

The following brokers are not currently recommended for use with MoonDog:

  • IC Markets
  • RoboForex
  • Vantage Markets

This classification is based on my personal experience and feedback received about XAUUSD execution, particularly unfavorable or inconsistent slippage under the conditions observed.

With a fast breakout EA, excessive slippage can materially reduce results and may turn an otherwise acceptable trade into a loss.

This does not mean these brokers are unsuitable for every trader, instrument or strategy. It is specifically a MoonDog and XAUUSD assessment based on the accounts and execution samples available to me. Broker conditions can also change over time.

Important: VT Markets and Vantage Markets are two different brokers. VT Markets is included in the recommended list; Vantage Markets is not.

How to Test a Broker Correctly

Before using normal risk, verify:

  1. Average and maximum XAUUSD spread.
  2. Commission for a completed trade.
  3. Entry slippage.
  4. Exit and Stop Loss slippage.
  5. Pending-order activation delays.
  6. Rejected or failed order requests.
  7. Stop Loss and order-modification reliability.
  8. Contract size, tick size and minimum volume.
  9. Broker server time and rollover break.
  10. VPS latency and connection stability.
  11. Differences between demo and live execution.
  12. Results across a meaningful sample of trades.

Start with demo or the minimum practical risk. Increase exposure only after your own execution data confirms that the account is suitable for MoonDog.

Final Thoughts

MoonDog can control its strategy, entries, risk calculations and trade management—but it cannot control the broker’s liquidity or execution.

The objective is not to find the broker advertising the lowest theoretical spread. The objective is to find transparent, measurable and stable XAUUSD execution.

No broker and no Expert Advisor can guarantee profits or identical results. Always use sensible risk management and evaluate execution on your own account.
