EdgeX is an automated Expert Advisor developed exclusively for XAUUSD. Built for traders who value trading logic and account protection over complex visual HUD panels.

Each trading system uses its own entry conditions and manages positions with a predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit. EdgeX does not require optimization of a large number of parameters before use. The main settings are provided by default, while several controls remain available for adjusting position sizing, trading frequency and trade direction.

No Grid. No Martingale. No uncontrolled averaging.

Trading Approach

EdgeX uses multiple independent trading systems that operate within the same Expert Advisor. Each system evaluates its own entry conditions and can open positions when those conditions are met.

Every position is opened with a predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit. Trade management is handled automatically after entry.

The EA is designed specifically for XAUUSD and its default parameters are configured for this symbol.

Trading Frequency

EdgeX provides two trading frequency modes. Standard uses the default trading frequency and selection criteria. High allows the EA to participate in more trading opportunities when its internal entry conditions are met. The selected mode affects trading activity but does not remove the Stop Loss or the built-in risk controls.

Money Management

EdgeX supports two position sizing methods. Fixed Lot uses the lot size specified by the user. Risk Percentage calculates the position size according to the selected percentage of account balance and the Stop Loss distance. This allows position sizing to be adjusted according to the account and the user's preferred level of exposure.

Direction Control

Trading direction can be selected directly from the EA inputs.

Buy Only allows only long positions.

Sell Only allows only short positions.

Both allows the EA to trade in either direction when the corresponding trading conditions are detected.

News Filter

EdgeX includes a news filter intended to restrict new trading around selected high-impact economic events.

The filter can be used for events such as NFP, CPI and FOMC announcements, when market volatility and spreads may increase significantly.

Account Protection

EdgeX includes additional account-level controls for managing trading exposure.

The available protection settings include a Daily Loss Limit, Maximum Drawdown Limit and Profit Target. These controls can restrict further trading when the configured account conditions are reached.

These features are risk-management controls and do not guarantee protection against losses, slippage, price gaps or other market and execution conditions.

  • Symbol: XAUUSD
  • Platform: MetaTrader 4
  • Account type: Hedging
  • A low-spread trading environment is recommended because spreads and execution conditions can affect trade results.
  • A VPS can be used for continuous operation when the trading terminal cannot remain online locally.
  • EdgeX should be attached to one chart per trading account. If other Expert Advisors are running on the same account, use different Magic Numbers to separate their positions.

Recommended Use

The default settings can be used as a starting configuration after installation. Before using the EA on a live account, test it in the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester and on a demo account under conditions similar to the intended broker and account.

Execution, spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage and broker conditions can cause results to differ between accounts.

Past performance and backtest results do not guarantee future results. Trading involves risk of loss. Use position sizing and risk settings appropriate for your own account and risk tolerance.
