Avocet is an expert advisor for AUDCAD, built for small accounts from 1,500 USD. It waits until price has stretched well away from its hourly average, opens a small basket, and closes it on the way back. Patient, capped, and nothing to do with gold.
Why Avocet
- Made for 1,500 – 2,000. It starts at 0.01 lot and adds one step for every 2,000 of balance. No big lots, no deposit you cannot afford.
- Waits for the stretch. AUDCAD is two commodity currencies that drift together and snap back. Avocet only opens when the move away from the average is large.
- Rolls, never piles. Never more than five legs open: when a sixth is due, the oldest leg leaves first. The size per leg is capped.
- Three layers of protection. A basket stop, a time stop, and an account emergency stop that closes everything and pauses for 72 hours.
- A different market. AUDCAD moves on its own. Next to gold robots its days do not move with theirs, so it spreads your risk instead of doubling it.
- Sensible filters. No new basket on the first Friday of the month (NFP) and none when the spread is too wide.
- Runs itself. Rebuilds its baskets after a restart and pauses when the market is closed. The panel shows each open basket with its stop and time left, the realised result, the drawdown, and why it is waiting.
- Engine values are fixed. The measured distances and exits are built in, so they cannot be broken by accident.
Tested the hard way
- MT5 Strategy Tester, 99% real ticks, January 2023 – September 2026, default settings: 2,000 grew to 2,919 (+46%), every year positive, deepest equity drawdown 8.4%. On 1,500: +61%, drawdown 10.5%.
- Re-run with every entry 1, 2, 3 and 4 minutes late: every path profitable, none hit its basket stop.
Pick your account
- 1,500 (minimum): 0.01 lot; a basket that reaches its stop costs about 19% of the balance.
- 2,000 (default): 0.01 lot; a stopped basket costs about 14%.
- 4,000 and more: the lot grows with the balance (0.02 per 4,000), the share stays about 14%.
Buy and sell baskets are separate, so in the worst case both can reach their stop.
Requirements
- MetaTrader 5, AUDCAD (any suffix), any chart timeframe. Hedging account recommended; on netting Avocet trades one position at a time.
- A VPS is recommended. No DLL, no internet calls, no external files.
