Order Flow Footprint Pro MT5
Order Flow Footprint Pro MT5 is an order flow and footprint chart indicator for MetaTrader 5. It analyzes broker tick data and displays buying and selling activity at individual price levels inside each candle.
Instead of viewing only Open, High, Low and Close, the footprint view provides additional information about activity inside the candle. It can display Bid x Ask values, Delta, Cumulative Delta, volume distribution, Point of Control, VWAP, imbalances and other order flow information directly on the chart.
The indicator is designed for traders who use footprint charts, volume analysis and price action together. It is an analytical tool and does not automatically open or close trades.
Footprint chart
Each candle can be divided into individual price rows.
The footprint can display Bid x Ask activity at those price levels so the trader can study where activity was concentrated and whether buying or selling pressure was stronger.
Several footprint display modes are available, including Bid x Ask, Delta, total volume, imbalance, Delta percentage, Bid/Ask ratio and heatmap-style visualization.
The number of visible clusters, candle aggregation, row density and display quality can be adjusted from the indicator settings.
Delta and Cumulative Delta
Delta represents the difference between classified buying and selling activity.
Positive Delta indicates that classified buying activity was greater during the analyzed period, while negative Delta indicates greater classified selling activity.
Cumulative Delta combines the Delta values over multiple clusters and can be used as additional context when comparing price movement with order flow behavior.
The indicator also records intrabar Delta movement so the trader can see how buying and selling pressure changed inside the candle rather than relying only on the final Delta value.
Imbalance and stacked imbalance
Order Flow Footprint Pro MT5 can highlight price rows where one side of activity is significantly greater than the opposite side.
The imbalance ratio and minimum activity threshold are configurable.
When several imbalance rows appear together, the indicator can identify a stacked imbalance area and extend the zone on the chart for further analysis.
Imbalance should be considered together with price location, volume, Delta and surrounding market structure.
Absorption areas
The indicator can identify potential absorption areas near candle extremes.
Absorption occurs when relatively strong aggressive activity appears at an extreme but price does not continue effectively in that direction and instead rejects the level.
Potential bullish and bearish absorption areas can be marked directly on the chart and extended forward.
By default, these areas can be confirmed from closed clusters to reduce changes while a candle is still forming.
Absorption areas are market context. They are not automatic buy or sell instructions.
Exhaustion areas
Exhaustion analysis looks for a different condition.
Instead of strong activity being absorbed, exhaustion examines whether activity near an extreme is becoming weaker compared with nearby price rows.
A potential exhaustion area may therefore help the trader identify locations where buying or selling participation is decreasing.
The indicator does not create exhaustion signals from completely empty price rows. The relevant price rows must contain activity before the comparison is made.
Absorption and exhaustion are intentionally separated because they describe different order flow conditions.
POC, VWAP and Volume Profile
The indicator includes several price and volume reference tools.
- Point of Control identifies the price row with the highest activity in the analyzed cluster or profile.
- Developing POC shows how the Point of Control changes as additional activity is processed.
- VWAP provides a volume-weighted reference price.
- Volume Profile displays the distribution of activity across the visible price range.
- Value Area can display VAH and VAL levels.
- High Volume Nodes and Low Volume Nodes can be shown when enabled.
- Naked POC levels can be extended when the selected POC has not yet been revisited.
These tools are intended to provide context for footprint and price-action analysis.
Order flow setups
The indicator contains an optional setup analysis engine.
It can evaluate absorption, stacked imbalance or initiative activity and trapped-trader conditions.
When the required conditions are present, the indicator can calculate a possible entry reference, stop reference, target levels, reward-to-risk value and setup quality score.
Additional filters include flow direction, session time, spread, volume climax, Cumulative Delta divergence and minimum reward-to-risk requirements.
These levels are analytical references generated from the selected settings. They do not guarantee a trading result.
Buyer and seller strength
The status panel summarizes current order flow conditions and provides a buyer/seller activity comparison.
It can also show Delta, Cumulative Delta, POC, order flow bias and detected order flow areas.
The purpose of the panel is to make the footprint easier to interpret without requiring the trader to read every individual price row manually.
Teaching mode
Teaching mode provides a plain-language explanation when an absorption or exhaustion area is identified.
It can describe the detected condition, the direction of the area and the basic confirmation or invalidation concept.
This feature is intended to help users understand why an area was marked rather than showing an unexplained signal.
Alerts
The indicator can provide MetaTrader notifications for selected order flow events.
Available notification methods include terminal popup, MetaQuotes push notification, email and sound, depending on the trader's MetaTrader configuration.
Alerts can be configured for new setups, entry levels, setup results and selected order flow areas.
EA and iCustom integration
Order Flow Footprint Pro MT5 provides indicator buffers that can be accessed by Expert Advisors and compatible EA-building tools through iCustom.
Available data includes signal direction, setup quality, entry, stop, target, buy and sell imbalance information, Delta, Delta percentage, volume, POC and Cumulative Delta.
This makes it possible for developers to use selected indicator information as part of their own automated trading logic.
Data source and important information
The indicator uses tick information supplied by the connected broker and MetaTrader 5.
When the broker supplies real trade volume and trade-direction information, the indicator can use that information. When those fields are not available, the indicator uses available tick volume and classifies activity from the tick stream and price movement.
Because Forex and many CFD markets do not use one centralized exchange feed, Bid/Ask footprint values can vary between brokers.
Historical footprint quality also depends on the tick history available from the broker. If historical tick data has not yet been downloaded, MetaTrader may require additional time to load it.
For this reason, footprint values from different brokers should not be expected to be identical.
The indicator does not create volume where no tick information exists.
Suggested use
Order Flow Footprint Pro MT5 can be used as an additional analytical layer for scalping, intraday trading and market-structure analysis.
Typical areas of study include Bid x Ask activity, Delta changes, Cumulative Delta divergence, stacked imbalances, absorption, exhaustion, POC interaction, VWAP interaction and Volume Profile structure.
The indicator should be combined with the trader's own strategy, risk management and market analysis.
