A disciplined trend-following EA for Gold (XAUUSD) with strict risk management.
Strategy Logic
TrendTrader captures large directional moves in Gold by trading only in the direction of the higher-timeframe trend, never against it.
1. Trend filter: EMA 50 vs EMA 200 on the daily timeframe. The EA only trades long when EMA50 > EMA200, and short when EMA50 < EMA200.
2. Entry: A 50-day Donchian channel breakout. It enters long when price breaks the 50-day high (in an uptrend), short when price breaks the 50-day low (in a downtrend).
3. Stop loss: 2 × ATR(14) — adaptive to market volatility.
4. Take profit: No fixed target. A trailing stop (8 × ATR) locks in profit as the trend runs — "cut losses short, let winners run."
5. Position sizing: Fixed fractional risk — each trade risks only a configurable % of the account balance.
