Adaptive Kernel Smoother NIKAQuant Indicator
Adaptive Kernel Smoother NIKAQuant is a non-parametric machine-learning trend tool built around Nadaraya–Watson kernel regression. Instead of a rigid moving average, every bar is estimated from a Gaussian-weighted lookback window, giving a smooth, data-driven trend line that flexes with price structure.
🔬 How it Works
The core is a Gaussian kernel regression that scores each historical bar by how close it is in the lookback space. Optional ATR-scaled bandwidth widens the kernel in volatile regimes and tightens it in quiet ones, so the line stays responsive without whipsawing.
📊 Residual Sigma Bands
Rolling standard deviation of the price-to-kernel residual builds a dynamic band around the midline. Close breaking above the upper band = bull state. Close breaking below the lower band = bear state. State persists until the opposite band is broken — no neutral noise.
🎨 Three Visual Modes
- Bands: midline with upper/lower channel and fill
- Single Line: clean midline only, colored by state
- Trail: only the opposite band shows as a trailing stop (lower in bulls, upper in bears)
🎨 Seven Themes
Classic, Cyber Aqua, Crimson Pulse, Royal Purple, Emerald Night, Minimal Mono, Classic Emerald — match any chart style.
⚠️ Non-Repainting
All state decisions use confirmed bars only. No future leakage, no lookahead, no strategy-level repaint.
🖥️ Built-in Dashboard
On-chart panel shows current signal, kernel MA value, both bands, realized sigma, and the active bandwidth — updated every tick.
Settings Overview
- Kernel Regression: lookback window, base bandwidth h, adaptive ATR scaling, output smoothing
- Residual Bands: multiplier (σ), lookback, smoothing
- Visuals: mode, theme, fill toggle, dashboard toggle, arrow codes, label offset
- Alerts: bull / bear break alerts with popup, push, and sound
How to Use
- Attach to any chart — FX, indices, metals, crypto
- Pick a visual mode and theme
- Longer lookback = smoother, more strategic signals. Shorter = more active
- Adaptive bandwidth on by default — recommended for mixed-volatility markets
- Use bull/bear state as trend filter, or the band break as a timing signal
FAQ
Does it repaint?
No. State updates only on confirmed bars, never on the forming bar.
Does it work on any symbol?
Yes — the kernel is price-only and symbol-agnostic.
Can an EA read the signal?
Yes — attach via iCustom and read buffer 10 (state: +1, 0, −1).
What about lower timeframes?
Works, but raise the bandwidth to compensate for noise.
