WHAT IS CRUCIBLE
Crucible is a fully automated Expert Advisor for WTI crude oil on MetaTrader 5.
It runs three independent engines, Onyx, Cobalt and Basalt, each with its own logic, its own sizing and its own magic number. Together they cover different market conditions in oil.
You choose one risk profile. Crucible does the rest.

BUILT-IN PROTECTION
• Protective limit: if Basalt's open loss reaches 35% (adjustable in inputs) of the balance, it closes all its positions and pauses for the rest of the day
• Stop and target: every Onyx and Cobalt trade has a stop loss and a target from the first second
• Profit lock: Basalt secures its profit as the price moves in its favour, then trails it
• Margin guard: position sizes are capped to keep a healthy margin level, free margin is checked before every order
• Broker-independent sizing: sizes adjust automatically to the broker's contract size (100 or 1,000 barrels per lot)
• Time limits: Onyx and Cobalt trades have a maximum holding time

REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
• Platform: MetaTrader 5
• Symbol: WTI crude oil CFD (WTI, XTIUSD, USOIL, USOUSD ... any broker name, any chart timeframe)
• Account type: hedging (on a netting account only Basalt runs)
• Leverage: 1:20 or higher
• Deposit: from 2,000 (USD / EUR), 4,000 or more recommended
• Broker: low WTI spread, low swap; any contract size
• Running: 24/5 on a VPS is recommended

RISK DISCLOSURE
Trading crude oil CFDs carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for every investor. Crucible sizes its trades from the balance, so results compound in both directions. Basalt can hold several positions at the same time and does not place an individual stop loss on each position; its protection is the engine-level protective limit, which closes all Basalt positions if their open loss reaches 35% of the balance. With the default Standard profile, drawdowns of up to about 33% occurred in the backtest; choose Conservative if that is more than you are comfortable with. All figures above come from backtests in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester and do not guarantee future results. Results depend on the broker's oil contract, spread, swap and execution. Test Crucible on a demo account first and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
