Starlit Gold Breakout Pro MT5

Gold Breakout Pro MT5 is a rule-based breakout Expert Advisor designed for XAUUSD (gold) on the M15 timeframe. It trades one position at a time, places a stop loss and take profit on every trade, and does not use martingale, grid, averaging or hedging.

BEFORE YOU USE IT - PLEASE READ

• Test on a demo account first. Run the EA on a demo account for a sufficient period and confirm that its behavior, spreads and execution match your expectations before you consider a live account.
• Use a very low spread account. The EA works with tight, ATR-based stops and a small trailing step, so spread, slippage and execution speed have a large effect on results. A raw spread / ECN-type gold account with very low spread and fast execution is strongly recommended.
• Use a VPS. The EA manages open trades tick by tick, so a stable, low-latency connection matters. Running it on a VPS close to your broker's server is recommended.
• Results will differ from the backtest. See the backtest information below.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Support and resistance. The EA calculates rolling support and resistance from the highest high and lowest low of the last N closed candles (default 50). Optionally the Asian session range is added to these levels.
2. Distance guard. Levels that are too far from the current price (measured in multiples of ATR) are ignored, so the EA does not place orders at stale levels.
3. Entry. The EA either places pending stop orders just beyond the levels, or enters at market after a candle closes beyond a level by a minimum distance. Pending orders expire after a set number of hours. When one order is filled, the opposite pending order is cancelled.
4. Optional filters. A higher-timeframe EMA 50 direction filter and a liquidity sweep rejection filter are available (both off by default).
5. Trade filters. Session hours, maximum spread and a basic NFP / Friday filter.

STOP LOSS AND TAKE PROFIT: YOU CHOOSE THE MODE 

The input "SL/TP Mode" selects one of two modes. Only the inputs of the selected mode are used.

Mode 1 - Fixed (pips): stop loss, take profit, break-even trigger and trailing settings are entered in pips.

Mode 2 - ATR Adaptive: stop loss = ATR x multiplier and take profit = ATR x multiplier, using the ATR of the last closed bar. The stop loss can be limited with a minimum and maximum in pips; if it is limited, the take profit is scaled by the same factor so the reward to risk ratio is kept. Break-even and trailing are set in multiples of R, where R is the stop distance recorded when that trade's order was placed, so the thresholds of an open trade do not change when volatility changes. If ATR data is not available the EA skips the trade; it does not switch to fixed pips.

Pip definition: on gold, 1 pip in this EA is 0.10 in price (30 pips = 3.00 price units). A pip size override input is provided for other symbols or broker conventions.

TRADE MANAGEMENT 

Optional break-even and optional trailing stop with a trailing step. Both work in either mode.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNT PROTECTION

• Fixed lot, or risk percent of balance per trade (lot size is calculated from the stop loss distance).
• Maximum daily loss (percent of the day-start balance, measured on equity): when reached, trades are closed, pending orders are deleted and the EA pauses until the next day.
• Maximum drawdown (percent of the initial balance): when reached, the EA closes everything and stays suspended until you reset the saved state with the input provided.
• Maximum simultaneous trades, maximum spread, slippage limit and a free-margin check before every order.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS (recommendations only; the EA does not enforce them)

• Symbol: XAUUSD or your broker's gold symbol.
• Recommended timeframe: M15. The EA was designed and tested on M15; other timeframes have not been tested.
• Account: raw spread / ECN gold account with very low spread and fast execution.
• VPS: recommended.
• Demo first: test on demo before live trading.
• Recommended balance: $100 adequate for 0.01 lot, Or 0.5 Risk Percentage.
• Session and filter times use broker server time. Adjust them to your broker.

BACKTEST INFORMATION The backtest used the EA's default settings (version 1.20):

• SL/TP Mode: ATR Adaptive. Stop loss 0.3 x ATR. Take profit 1.5 x ATR. Minimum and maximum SL limits: disabled (0).
• Break-even at 0.3 R. Trailing starts at 0.6 R, trailing distance 0.3 R, trailing step 0.3 pips.
• Fixed lot 0.10. Session filter off. NFP / Friday filter off.
• Maximum daily loss 10 percent. Maximum drawdown 30 percent. Test conditions:
• XAUUSD, M15. Period 2021.01.01 to 2025.12.31
• Every tick based on real ticks, history quality 98 percent, Exness Technologies Limited.
• Initial deposit 1000 USD. Execution delay 10 ms. 1:2000. Results of that run:
• Total trades 9818. Profit factor 2.06. Winning trades 52.5 percent.
• Maximal balance drawdown 209.41 USD. Maximal equity drawdown 268.11 USD.
• Average holding time about 2.5 minutes. These are simulated results on historical data. They use a 10 ms execution delay and do not include broker-specific slippage or requotes, and they use a fixed 0.10 lot, which is a large position for a small account. Because the stops are tight relative to spread, real results can be materially different. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

INPUT PARAMETERS (defaults) 

Support and resistance: lookback 50 candles; minimum breakout distance 10 pips; include Asian range yes (00:00 to 06:00 server time); max S/R distance 2.0 x ATR; max pending distance 1.5 x ATR. ATR: period 14. Risk management: use risk percent no; fixed lot 0.10; risk 1.0 percent (used only if risk percent is enabled). SL/TP mode: ATR Adaptive (default). Fixed pips is the alternative. ATR mode (default): SL 0.3 x ATR; TP 1.5 x ATR; minimum SL disabled (0); maximum SL disabled (0); break-even at 0.3 R; trailing starts at 0.6 R; trailing distance 0.3 R. Fixed mode (used only if selected): stop loss 30 pips; take profit 90 pips; break-even at 30 pips; trailing starts at 60 pips; trailing distance 30 pips. Trade management: break-even on; trailing stop on; trailing step 0.3 pips. Entry execution: pending stop orders on; market order on candle close off; pending order expiry 4 hours. Execution filters: max spread 3.0 pips; max slippage 3.0 pips. Session filter: off by default (07:00 to 21:00 server time when enabled). NFP / Friday filter: off by default. When enabled: 30 minutes before and after 15:30 server time on the first Friday of the month, and no new entries on Friday from 20:00. This is a simple time filter, not a news calendar. Adjust the times to your broker's server time. Account protection: max daily loss 10 percent; max drawdown 30 percent; initial balance 0 (automatic); reset saved state off; max simultaneous trades 1. Advanced: higher-timeframe filter off (H1); liquidity sweep filter off. EA settings: magic number 202401; trade comment; chart panel on; logging on; verbose logging off; pip size override 0.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

• The saved protection state (initial balance, daily and drawdown flags) is stored in terminal global variables per account and magic number.
