Welcome to Kumiko-XR — the all-day sibling to Kumiko-X, built on the same idea: that a trading system should be able to survive being checked.
Kumiko is the Japanese craft of assembling wooden lattices without nails or glue. Hundreds of small pieces, individually insignificant, holding together through nothing but precise geometry. Kumiko-X trades that idea during the quiet Asian hours. Kumiko-XR trades it around the clock.
Where Kumiko-X runs one strategy in one session, Kumiko-XR runs two — a London/New York engine through the day and the proven Kumiko-X engine at night. Each has its own entries, its own targets and its own recovery ladder. They hand over cleanly on the server clock, and while either one still holds a basket open the other will not start a new one.
Two and a half times the trades. Two and a half times the annual return. About one and a half times the drawdown. That is the trade being offered, stated plainly.

Kumiko-XR is busier than its older sibling, but it is not busy for its own sake. In a confirmed downtrend the day engine will not buy at all — it stands aside and waits, sometimes for hours.
⚙️ How Kumiko-XR Works
Two strategies, one expert advisor, selected by the server clock.
DAY · 10:00–22:00 — The London and New York engine. Wider grid, larger targets, a gentler recovery multiplier. Entries are gated by an H4 trend and momentum filter.
NIGHT · 01:00–09:00 — The Kumiko-X engine, unchanged. Tighter grid, very small targets, fast cycling, running on its own capped reference.
Each basket keeps the strategy it was opened under for its entire life. A basket opened at 21:00 still closes on day terms at 02:00.
Within each session, every trade follows the same three-part cycle.
1. WAIT — The engine watches for its setup, with the higher timeframe granting permission. When conditions align it opens a small position. When they don't, it stands aside.
2. WIN — Most of the time the move reverses and the position closes quickly. In four years of testing, 66% of long positions and 63% of short positions closed in profit. Average holding time was 2 hours 18 minutes.
3. RECOVER — Sometimes price keeps going. The engine adds positions at fixed intervals to a hard capped depth. When the combined basket reaches its target, everything closes together.
Wait. Win or recover. Reset. Twice a day, in two different gears.

Against Kumiko-X over the identical span and the same $3,000 per engine: 313% versus 1,584%, 2,426 trades versus 5,759, 23.8% worst dip versus 35.4%. Kumiko-X remains the calmer instrument. Kumiko-XR is the harder-working one.
One caveat we will state plainly: this backtest is in-sample. The settings were selected using this same data. Every vendor showing you a backtest is showing you a period they chose the settings on, whether they say so or not. Read these figures as evidence the risk is quantified — not as a forecast.
⚠️ Risk — Read This Twice
This is a grid with a multiplying ladder and no stop-loss. Losing positions are held and added to until they recover.
❌ Floating drawdowns run deep. Your equity will dip, sometimes to numbers that will frighten you, before a basket closes.
❌ Baskets can stay open for days. Average holding time is a little over two hours, but the longest single basket in four years ran 94 hours — just under four days — before closing in profit. A basket sitting open is the system working, not the system stuck.
❌ Long-biased. 4,995 long trades against 764 shorts. Shorts require a confirmed downtrend and a genuinely overbought reading at the same moment, which is rare. This is not a market-neutral system and is not sold as one.
❌ Not suitable for prop-firm accounts with daily drawdown rules.
✅ What the EA does give you: a hard capped ladder, an H4 permission filter, a volatility breaker that blocks entries when the market turns abnormally fast, a session lock that stops the two strategies overlapping, and an on-chart panel that prints your worst-case ladder cost the moment it attaches — before a single trade is placed.
Only trade with money you can afford to lose entirely.

Note the higher floor than Kumiko-X. One tenth of a lot of gold is roughly $4,400 of exposure and the day ladder needs eleven of them. Below $3,000 per engine the account cannot fund the recovery the system depends on. That is arithmetic, not caution.

The parameters were selected using that same data, so those results are in-sample and are not out-of-sample validation. Results on a different broker, spread model or period will differ. Drawdown figures describe the deepest decline recorded in the stated period; they are not a limit and actual drawdown may exceed them. Risk-tier figures other than the two measured anchors are fitted estimates.
