Alpha300 - Discover. Verify. Trade.
Alpha300 is a strategy discovery, verification and trading Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5.
Instead of using one fixed trading system, Alpha300 allows traders to explore many Strategy ID and Seed combinations, identify interesting candidates, verify them with the MT5 Strategy Tester and trade the system they choose.
Alpha300 contains a catalogue of up to 300 trading concepts covering trend, momentum, breakout, mean reversion, volatility, price action, candlestick patterns, indicator combinations, market structure and other systematic approaches.
The number of strategies tested depends on the selected search scope. Native strategies are recommended for normal use, while additional experimental methods are available for research.
Mode 1 - Virtual Scanning
Mode 1 is the discovery stage.
Alpha300 tests many Strategy ID and Seed combinations using historical data and virtual trades. Each Seed creates a reproducible variation of the strategy parameters.
The selected history is divided into P1, P2 and P3 validation periods. Candidates are evaluated using factors such as Profit Factor, drawdown, number of trades, wins and losses, TP/SL relationship and performance across the active periods.
When the scan finishes, Alpha300 creates an HTML Discovery Report showing Approved Candidates and Near Misses together with their Strategy ID, Seed and main statistics.
Near Misses are also worth reviewing. An Approved Candidate is not necessarily the strongest system after final MT5 verification. Some Near Miss combinations may perform better when tested with real ticks.

Mode 2 - Recommended MT5 Backtest Verification
Choose an interesting Strategy ID and Seed from either the Approved Candidates or Near Misses section and enter them in Mode 2.
For final verification, it is recommended to use the MT5 Strategy Tester with:
Every tick based on real ticks
Review the balance/equity curve, Profit Factor, drawdown, number of trades and general trading behaviour before deciding whether to continue with the system.
Alpha300 can also account for spread, commission and additional slippage.
Mode 3 - Live Trading
After completing your own MT5 verification and demo testing, enter the selected Strategy ID and Seed in Mode 3.
Alpha300 rebuilds the same strategy parameters and trades that selected system automatically.
Live Trading includes fixed lot sizing, maximum spread protection and a Demo Accounts Only safety option enabled by default.
Recommended use
Alpha300 is primarily intended for Forex research on timeframes from H1 to H12.
It has been tested during development on several Forex pairs but is not limited to those symbols. Other Forex pairs available from your broker can also be researched.
Because brokers may use different price feeds, spreads, commissions, historical data and execution conditions, users should verify their selected Strategy ID and Seed using their own broker's data.
