Overview
Asian Session Anchor Profile is a technical indicator for MetaTrader 5. It calculates reference levels from the Asian trading session and displays them on the chart. The levels remain visible during the following sessions and are updated as new data arrives.
The indicator is an analysis tool. It does not open trades and does not provide buy or sell signals.
Displayed elements
The indicator draws the following elements on the chart:
1. Asian session range, shown as a rectangle between the session high and the session low.
2. Volume profile levels of the Asian session: Point of Control (POC), Value Area High (VAH) and Value Area Low (VAL).
3. Asian Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) with three standard deviation bands.
4. Daily VWAP with three standard deviation bands.
5. Text labels with the price values of the levels.
Interpretation of the levels
The levels can be used as support and resistance zones and as breakout reference zones. The upper and lower boundaries of the session range and of the value area are the zones where breakouts and reversals are commonly observed. The Point of Control marks the price level where the majority of the session volume was traded and can be treated as a balance point. The VWAP lines show the average price of the session and of the day, and the standard deviation bands show how far the current price is from that average.
How the trader applies these levels depends on the trader's own method and risk management. The indicator does not recommend any trade and does not evaluate market direction.
Input parameters
The parameters are grouped as follows:
1. Session times: start and end of the Asian session and end of the trading day, in broker server time.
2. Volume profile: number of price levels, value area percentage, volume type, line colors, width and style.
3. Asian range: border color and width, fill color, fill transparency and an option to extend the rectangle until the end of the day.
4. Asian VWAP: line color and width, and the colors and width of the standard deviation bands.
5. Daily VWAP: visibility option, line color and width, and the colors and width of the standard deviation bands.
6. Labels: text color, font size and update interval in seconds.
Technical notes
The indicator works on any symbol and timeframe and uses the data of the current chart. It draws chart objects only for the days visible on the screen and removes objects that leave the visible area. It does not use DLLs, external resources or network requests.
