The First True Fixed Range Volume Profile for MT5
Professional auction market analysis has never been natively available inside MetaTrader 5 — until now. The Giotrade Fixed Range Volume Profile (FRVP) brings institutional-grade volume analysis directly to your MT5 chart, with zero external dependencies, zero subscriptions, and full flexibility to analyze any range you define.
Unlike session-based volume tools that lock you into fixed time windows, this indicator gives you complete control. Define any range — a swing high to low, a consolidation zone, a news candle to the next structure break and the full auction profile renders instantly.
How It Works
The indicator integrates seamlessly with MT5's native Fibonacci Time Zone drawing tool. There is no custom panel, no complex setup, no external data feed required.
Three steps:
- Attach the indicator to any chart
- Select the Fibonacci Time Zone tool from the MT5 toolbar
- Draw from the start of your range to the end
The indicator automatically detects every Fibonacci Time Zone object on the chart and builds a complete volume profile for each one. Add more objects — get more profiles. Remove an object — the profile disappears. Clean, intuitive, and fully integrated with how MT5 already works.
What The Indicator Calculates
Point of Control (POC) The price level with the highest traded volume in the defined range. Displayed as a bold horizontal line. The POC is the market's fairest price — the level both buyers and sellers agreed on most. Price gravitates back to the POC repeatedly across timeframes, making it the single most reliable reference level in auction market theory.
Value Area High and Low (VAH / VAL) The price boundaries containing the configurable percentage of total session volume (default 68%, adjustable). Price above the VAH represents premium — a zone where sellers have historically dominated. Price below the VAL represents discount — where buyers have historically stepped in. Trading from outside the value area back toward the POC is one of the highest-probability strategies in professional trading.
High Volume Nodes (HVN) Price levels with disproportionately high volume concentration. These are zones of prior institutional activity — where large orders were placed and absorbed. HVNs act as price magnets on the first approach and as support/resistance on subsequent tests. The indicator highlights all HVNs automatically.
Cumulative Delta The net difference between buying and selling volume across the entire defined range. Cumulative Delta reveals the true conviction behind a price move. A rising price with negative Cumulative Delta signals hidden distribution — smart money selling into retail buying. A falling price with positive delta signals absorption — institutional accumulation beneath the surface. Displayed on each profile for immediate read.
Profile Shape Classification The indicator automatically classifies each profile into one of five types based on volume distribution geometry:
- Normal — balanced bell-curve distribution indicating healthy, accepted price range
- B Profile — volume skewed to the lower half, bullish accumulation signature, upside breakout tendency
- P Profile — volume skewed to the upper half, bearish distribution signature, downside breakdown tendency
- Double Distribution — two distinct value areas separated by a Low Volume Node, indicating a directional move interrupted by consolidation at two separate price levels
- Double Distribution Bullish / Bearish — Double Distribution with POC positioned at the upper or lower concentration, indicating directional bias within the contested range

Practical Applications
Supply and Demand Trading Identify HVN zones above the Value Area (premium supply) and below the Value Area (discount demand). Enter shorts from HVN supply retests and longs from HVN demand retests with volume-confirmed confluences.
ICT / Smart Money Concepts Overlay volume profile data on top of Fair Value Gaps, Order Blocks, and Breaker Blocks. HVNs that coincide with FVGs or Order Blocks represent the highest-probability institutional entry zones.
Breakout and Reversion Trading Price outside the Value Area has a statistically high probability of returning to the POC. Use VAH and VAL as mean-reversion entry triggers with the POC as the natural target.
Trend Confirmation B Profile and P Profile classifications signal directional intent. A confirmed P Profile at a swing high combined with a bearish structure break is a high-probability short entry signal. A B Profile at a swing low combined with bullish structure confirmation sets up long entries.
Multi-Profile Comparative Analysis Draw profiles on successive swings to compare volume distribution across multiple market phases. Identify how volume acceptance shifts from one range to the next to anticipate the next directional move.
Installation and Setup
- Purchase and download the indicator file
- In MT5: File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Indicators
- Copy the file into the Indicators folder
- In MT5 Navigator panel: right-click Indicators → Refresh
- Drag the indicator onto any chart
- In the MT5 toolbar, select the Fibonacci Time Zones drawing tool
- Click and drag over any price range on the chart
- The volume profile renders automatically
To add additional profiles: draw additional Fibonacci Time Zone objects on the same chart. Each one generates its own independent profile.
