MTF MA Slope Color Candles Alert is a multi-timeframe moving-average slope indicator that colors candles according to the direction of the selected moving average.
Instead of using only price position above or below the moving average, the indicator separates market behavior into three slope states:
- rising moving average
- falling moving average
- flat or non-trending moving average
Each slope state keeps bullish and bearish candles visually distinct, giving six candle colors in total:
- flat slope bullish candle
- flat slope bearish candle
- upslope bullish candle
- upslope bearish candle
- downslope bullish candle
- downslope bearish candle
Main features:
- Multi-timeframe moving-average source
- Six-color candle system based on MA slope state
- Optional moving-average line display
- Optional slope-change alerts
- Adjustable moving-average period and method
- Optional hidden base chart for a cleaner overlay
- No external DLL files required
Default settings:
- Time frame: current chart timeframe
- Moving average period: 40
- Moving average method: Simple
- Interpolation in multi-timeframe mode: true
- Show moving average line: true
- Hide base chart candles: false
The default 40-period Simple Moving Average is provided as the recommended starting setting for slope-style trading because it gives a clean balance between trend clarity and responsiveness.
For stronger trade filtering, use it together with other market context tools such as support and resistance, pivot ranges, a 200-period Simple Moving Average, or other elements of your own strategy.
Version 1.13
- Fixed higher-timeframe display behavior.
- Restored the neutral flat-slope state so grey sections display correctly.
- Preserved separate candle coloring for flat, rising, and falling MA states.
- Improved consistency when changing chart timeframes.
This indicator does not predict market direction and does not place trades. It is a visual slope-reference tool only. Traders should test settings on demo first and use their own risk management.
