Momentum Horizon

Momentum Horizon is a fully automated trading system for MetaTrader 5, designed to trade breakout movements in the Gold market. It combines two price-action setups: a daily breakout based on the previous day’s high and low, and an intraday breakout based on the price range formed during the six completed H1 bars preceding the configured London breakout hour.

Breakout levels can be calculated from either candle wicks or candle bodies. An optional buffer can be added beyond each level to reduce entries on marginal price breaches.

The EA can place pending stop orders in advance or execute market orders when price crosses a monitored breakout level. It also supports optional add-on setups. When a trade closes with a positive net result, including commission, swap and fees, Momentum Horizon can create a new short-lived breakout level based on that trade’s closing price.

Risk management is fully integrated. Trade volume can be specified manually or calculated automatically from account equity, the selected risk percentage and the applicable stop-loss distance. Every entry is protected with a stop loss and take profit. A trailing stop can subsequently move the stop loss as the trade develops.

Stop-loss and trailing distances can use either fixed point values or ATR-based calculations. ATR mode allows these distances to adapt to current market volatility.

Momentum Horizon also manages the operational lifecycle of its signals. It monitors the spread before executing market breakouts, temporarily suspends affected levels when the spread is too high and automatically removes expired breakout levels. Daily trade scheduling also takes the symbol’s available trading sessions into account.

Momentum Horizon is intended for Gold, but symbol specifications, server times, spreads and execution conditions differ between brokers. Always verify the settings and behaviour with your broker’s data before using the EA on a live account.

Settings

• Trade Magic – Unique identification number assigned to the EA’s trades. This helps distinguish them from trades placed manually or by other EAs.
• Trade Comment – Text label added to orders and positions for easier identification.
• Trade Volume – Fixed volume in lots, used when risk-based position sizing is disabled.
• Trade Risk (%) – Percentage of account equity to risk per trade. A value greater than zero enables risk-based volume calculation and overrides Trade Volume.
• Market or Stop – Select whether the EA places pending stop orders or executes market orders after price crosses a monitored breakout level.
• Breakout Level - Select whether breakout levels are based on candle wicks or candle bodies.
• Add-on Trades - Enables additional breakout setups based on profitable trades closed during the previous H1 bar.
• London breakout hour - Broker server hour at which the London breakout levels are calculated.
• Breakout Points – Additional buffer, in symbol points, placed beyond the calculated breakout level.
• Auto SL and Trailing – When enabled, stop-loss and trailing distances are calculated from ATR instead of the fixed point settings.
• Auto Correction Factor – Divisor used for the ATR-based calculations. A higher value produces smaller stop-loss and trailing distances; a lower value produces wider distances.
• Max Spread Points – Maximum spread allowed when executing market breakout orders. Pending stop orders already held by the broker cannot be suspended at the moment of activation.
• Suspension Seconds – Time for which a market breakout level remains suspended after the maximum spread is exceeded.
• Stoploss Points – Fixed stop-loss distance in symbol points, used when Auto SL and Trailing is disabled.
• Takeprofit Points – Fixed take-profit distance in symbol points.
• Trailing Trigger – Profit distance, in symbol points, at which trailing starts.
• Trailing Points – Distance, in symbol points, maintained between the current price and the trailing stop loss.
