CalmRange Gold was developed around three principles: wait for meaningful displacement, control trading risk and execute the same rules consistently.
CalmRange Gold is a fully automated intraday mean-reversion Expert Advisor developed specifically for XAUUSD on M1. It continuously evaluates price displacement from a rolling mean, current volatility, live spread, important USD economic events and account risk. Only when all enabled conditions agree can it evaluate a long setup and automatically handle signal confirmation, execution, protective stops, targets and exit decisions.
Designed around short-term XAUUSD behavior
Gold frequently moves away from its recent mean, but not every decline creates a qualified entry.
CalmRange Gold uses a rolling mean, standard deviation, ATR and market-state filters to distinguish ordinary movement, an actionable displacement and an environment in which new risk should be avoided.
When price moves sufficiently below its rolling range, and the spread, volatility, news and account checks all pass, the system can open a long position and look for a short-term return toward the mean.
The release configuration is long-only. This is a deliberate strategy decision rather than a missing feature. During development, the tested short-side variants did not show a sufficiently stable advantage after spread and execution-cost stress, so they were not included in the release configuration.
No grid or martingale
CalmRange Gold does not keep increasing exposure while waiting for the market to reverse, and it does not build a large recovery basket.

Every trade has an independent risk structure from the moment it is opened and is evaluated and managed separately by the EA.
Rule-based management from entry to exit
Finding an entry opportunity is only the beginning of trade management.
Before submitting an order, CalmRange Gold checks completed-bar displacement, the ATR regime, live spread, important economic events, account-protection status, available margin and broker trading rules.
Only after these checks pass can a position be opened. Every new position has a protective stop and is managed through volatility-based targets, a holding review and account-level risk rules.
Reaching the holding review point does not mean that every position is closed unconditionally. The EA reassesses the position before it continues managing or exits, rather than relying only on a fixed holding time.
Designed to remain inactive when conditions are unsuitable
CalmRange Gold scans throughout the trading week but does not force entries to create artificial activity.
When no qualified setup exists, remaining flat is part of the strategy. When the required conditions appear, the system executes its predefined process without discretionary emotion.
Gold can experience wider spreads, slippage and rapid reversals around important USD releases. The EA uses the MetaTrader economic calendar to monitor selected high-impact events and pauses new entries during the configured event window.

When no trade is opened, the user does not need to guess. The dashboard shows whether the system is waiting for a signal, applying a filter or protecting the account.
Installation
- Open the broker's XAUUSD or equivalent gold chart in MetaTrader 5.
- Select the M1 timeframe.
- Attach CalmRange Gold to the chart.
- Keep the default inputs for the first demo test.
- Enable algorithmic trading in the terminal and EA properties.
- Confirm that the dashboard displays AUTO ON.
- Keep MetaTrader 5 running continuously or use a stable VPS.

This background is applied to data research, rule decomposition, automated execution, risk control and reproducible testing. Trading decisions are generated by explicit quantitative rules rather than an unexplained artificial-intelligence marketing label.
CalmRange Gold is not designed to predict every move in gold. It monitors the market, remains inactive when conditions are unsuitable, executes within a predefined risk structure when conditions qualify, and continues managing risk after a position is opened.
Risk notice
Leveraged trading can result in substantial losses. Stop orders can be filled at worse prices during gaps or fast markets. Historical performance can differ materially from live execution. Test the EA in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account with your own broker, and select risk settings you can afford.
