Gold Candle Timer

Eight years of watching charts has taught me one thing most traders overlook: a lot of bad entries happen in the last few seconds of a candle.

The setup looks clean. The move seems confirmed. You click buy - and then the candle closes flat, or reverses, and the whole picture changes. Not because your read was wrong, but because you acted before the candle finished telling its story.

Gold Candle Timer Free is a small chart utility I built to solve exactly that. It keeps a live countdown of the active candle directly on your chart - no separate phone timer, no extra window, no distractions. Just a clean panel that tells you how much time is left before the current candle closes.

No signals. No arrows. No automatic trading. Just timing awareness, which is more useful than most traders realize.

What It Shows

A compact dark panel appears directly on your chart with:

• Live countdown to the current candle close
• Symbol and timeframe label - for example, XAUUSD · M15 Candle
• Progress bar showing how far through the candle you are
• Visual closing-warning mode that activates in the final seconds
• Fully draggable panel with saved position per chart

The indicator follows the chart it is attached to. Apply it on M5 and it counts down the active M5 candle. Switch to H1 and it adapts immediately. No manual input required.

Why This Actually Helps

Most traders use price action, levels or structure. The entry criteria are clear. What is less clear is the exact moment to act - and candle timing is a big part of that.

A few places where this matters:

Breakout candles on XAUUSD move fast. Knowing there are 12 seconds left versus 4 minutes left changes how you read the momentum. A close with 10 seconds remaining still has room to fail. A close with 3 minutes left is a very different situation.

Rejection candles need to close. A long upper wick looks clean at second 45. By second 58 it might still be printing. The timer shows you whether the candle has actually decided or is still forming.

Multi-chart sessions. When you have several charts open and the layout is busy, a clear symbol and timeframe label on each panel saves you from misreading which chart you are looking at during fast market moves.

Session windows. During London open or New York open on gold, candle timing matters more than most people admit. The difference between a clean break and a stop-hunt is often visible in how the candle closes.

Version 1.1 - What Changed

This update focused on stability and daily usability rather than adding features.

Panel dragging is smoother with less chart stutter during fast price moves. Object cleanup on removal is cleaner, leaving fewer leftover elements when switching charts or timeframes. Saved position handling was improved so the panel stays where you put it across timeframe changes. Countdown font size and vertical spacing were refined so the panel reads more clearly at different chart sizes. Internal handling of countdown timing was made safer during low-tick or quiet market periods.

How to Use It

Attach the indicator to any chart. The panel appears in the top-left corner by default and can be dragged to any position on the chart. The position is saved per chart automatically.

You can adjust panel colors, font, corner placement, warning threshold, progress bar visibility and auto-scaling behavior through the input settings. The title can also be customized if you want a different label.

Free and Pro

The Free version does one job: clean, reliable candle-close timing for the chart it is attached to.

Gold Candle Timer Pro is for traders who need more. It adds multi-timeframe countdowns across up to four timeframes simultaneously, a full alert system with sound, popup, push notification and email options, session timing that shows how many candles remain in your trading window, live trend color and arrows based on the current candle direction, and a closed-candle CSV logger for post-session review.

If you trade a single chart and want clean timing, the Free version is enough. If you monitor multiple timeframes at the same time or rely on alerts to stay aware between chart checks, the Pro version is the step up.
