Adaptive Trend Flow is a trend-following indicator based on the Average True Range (ATR). It plots a dynamic line that stays below the price during an uptrend and above the price during a downtrend, and changes its color the moment the direction flips. Reversal bars are marked with clear arrows, so the current market direction is easy to read at a glance.

The indicator works on any symbol and any timeframe. All calculations use the data of the current chart only, so it loads instantly and does not depend on external data feeds or other indicators.

Adaptive ATR trend line that follows the price and repaints its color with the trend.
Buy and sell arrows on every trend reversal.
On-chart info panel: current trend, ATR value, distance to the trend line and the age of the last signal.
Alerts on a new reversal: terminal popup, push notification to the mobile app and email.

Inputs

ATR period - the averaging period of the Average True Range.
ATR multiplier - the distance between the trend line and the price in ATR units. Higher values give a smoother line with fewer signals.
Show reversal arrows - turn the buy and sell arrows on or off.
Info panel - show or hide the on-chart panel and set its corner, color and font size.
Alerts - enable popup, push and email notifications and choose closed-bar mode.

How to use it

A green line with a buy arrow means the trend is up.
A red line with a sell arrow means the trend is down.
The trend line can also be used as a reference level for a trailing stop.
