Order Block Robot — Smart Money Concepts EA for MT5
OVERVIEW
Order Block Robot is a rule-based Expert Advisor built around core Smart Money Concepts (SMC): Break of Structure (BOS), Order Blocks, Fair Value Gaps (FVG), and liquidity sweeps. It identifies institutional-style price structure shifts and looks for high-probability entries at the resulting order blocks, with a full risk-management layer designed for prop-firm-style trading discipline.
The EA has been developed and tick-tested on XAUUSD (Gold vs USD), M15 timeframe, using every-tick real-tick data.
STRATEGY LOGIC
- Break of Structure detection with a configurable lookback period
- Order Block identification over a configurable candle range
- Displacement candle confirmation before validating a structure shift
- Fair Value Gap minimum size filter, to avoid low-quality setups
- Optional Order Block color/type filter
- Liquidity sweep detection before entry confirmation
- Pending order placement with configurable expiration time
- Configurable entry offset and stop-loss offset (in pips) from the order block
TREND & MOMENTUM FILTERS
- EMA filter (configurable period) to align entries with the broader trend
- RSI filter with independently configurable buy/sell thresholds
- Optional time-session filter, supporting up to 3 custom trading sessions per day (e.g. London/NY overlap only), so the EA only trades during the hours you choose
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Fixed risk % per trade, calculated dynamically from account balance, or a fixed lot size fallback
- Maximum drawdown limit from peak balance
- Maximum daily loss %
- Maximum drawdown limit from starting balance
- Maximum consecutive losses counter, with an automatic pause (configurable duration in hours) after the limit is hit
These filters are designed with prop-firm evaluation rules in mind (daily loss limits, max drawdown limits).
TRADE MANAGEMENT
- Configurable Risk:Reward ratio target
- Optional partial close at a defined R-multiple, with a configurable close volume %
- Optional move-to-breakeven after partial close
- Independent breakeven logic with its own trigger (R-multiple) and offset, separate from partial close
TRADE LIMITS
- Maximum open positions at once
- Maximum pending orders at once
- Minimum distance (in pips) between duplicate/similar orders, to avoid stacking near-identical entries
BACKTEST RESULTS (FOR REFERENCE)
Tested in the MT5 Strategy Tester on XAUUSD, M15, "Every tick based on real ticks" model, over a 20-month period (Jan 2025 – current). Screenshots of the equity curve and full input parameters are included in the product gallery.
