Adaptive Gold Breakout EA is a professional algorithmic trading system built around Donchian Channel breakout logic with multi-layered adaptive risk management.

Designed primarily for XAUUSD, it requires only 2 user inputs to operate — the rest adapts automatically to market conditions.

HOW IT WORKS

The EA identifies high-probability breakout opportunities when price breaks out of the Donchian Channel, confirmed by multiple filters:

  • M15 candle close confirmation (avoids fake wicks)

  • H1 EMA200 trend alignment

  • H4 EMA20 momentum confirmation

  • ADX regime filter (only trades trending markets)

  • Candle body momentum filter (avoids doji breakouts)

ADAPTIVE RISK MANAGEMENT

The EA continuously monitors its own performance and adapts risk in real time:

  • Equity Curve Feedback (ECF):
    Automatically reduces position size by 50–75% after a losing streak

  • Consecutive loss detection:
    Reacts immediately to 3–5 consecutive losses without waiting for history to fill

  • Recovery mode:
    Full risk is restored only after confirmed performance recovery

PROTECTION LAYERS

  • Daily Circuit Breaker:
    Pauses trading for 24 hours if daily drawdown exceeds 10% from intraday peak.
    Resumes automatically the next day.

  • Lifetime Protection:
    Permanently halts trading if account loses 25% from all-time equity peak.
    Requires manual reload to resume.

  • Margin buffer: Requires 150% free margin before entry

  • Spread protection: Avoids trades during wide or unstable spreads

  • Partial close at 2R: Locks in 50% profit at 2× risk distance

  • Trailing stop: Adaptive ATR-based trailing that tightens in profit

DOUBLE INPUT DESIGN

Two parameter controls the entire system:

Target Annual % (5.0 – 30.0)

  • Low setting → Conservative risk, strict filters, fewer trades

  • High setting → Higher risk, more aggressive entries
