RecoveryPilot manages a losing position as a basket and works it back to a small net profit. It offers the two recovery methods that are most common in this category - grid averaging and zone recovery hedging - and adds a check that most recovery tools leave out: before a cycle starts, the EA simulates the whole basket up to its last allowed level and calculates what the cycle can lose. If that number does not fit your account, the cycle does not start.
IMPORTANT - WHAT THIS IS
This is a grid / martingale-type recovery system. It typically produces many small winning cycles and occasionally a larger losing one. RecoveryPilot does not remove that risk; it makes it visible and limits it. The worst case of every cycle is printed to the Journal and shown on the panel before you are exposed to it.
TWO RECOVERY METHODS
Grid averaging
- Adds positions in the losing direction at a step that grows with each level.
- The lot multiplier starts from a configurable level.
- The basket target is calculated from the average price including swap and commission, so a "break-even" close is really break-even.
- Optional "nibbler": when the best position is in profit, it pays for a partial close of the worst position. The basket volume shrinks without realizing a net loss.
- Optional confirmation: a new level only opens after a candle closes in the basket direction.
Zone recovery
- Alternating buy and sell positions inside a fixed zone.
- Each new lot is solved exactly from the current basket, so the whole basket reaches the target at the next take-profit level - no fixed multiplier table.
- Lots are rounded up, never down, so the target is not missed by rounding.
TWO WAYS TO USE IT
- Standalone: own entries (RSI reversal, Bollinger re-entry, EMA trend pullback or the BUY/SELL buttons). Recovery takes over if the first trade goes wrong.
- Manager: takes over your manual trades (or a chosen magic number) once they are a set number of points or a set amount in loss.
RISK CONTROLS
- Pre-trade simulation: plan loss must stay below a percentage of balance.
- Auto-fit: on smaller accounts the number of levels is reduced until the plan fits, instead of trading a plan the account cannot carry.
- Hard limits: maximum levels, maximum lot per position, maximum total lot, broker volume limit, margin level after the order (OrderCheck).
- At the limit the basket is closed at the known plan loss (or held for break-even, if you prefer).
- Basket stop in percent of balance or as a fixed amount.
- Account equity brake from the equity high, with lock until manual release. Deposits and withdrawals are taken into account.
- Broker-side stop loss and take profit on every position as a fallback if the terminal or VPS goes offline.
- State is kept in terminal global variables; a restart continues the cycle.
PANEL
The panel shows the basket result as the main figure, the target, break-even price, level progress, next level, the maximum loss of the running cycle, the equity drawdown and today's result. Chart lines mark break-even, target, next level and the plan stop. Buttons: BUY, SELL, PAUSE/START, CLOSE (double click).
REQUIREMENTS
- MetaTrader 5, hedging account.
- Works on any symbol; the default step is based on ATR, so it adapts to forex, metals and indices.
- One basket per chart. Use different magic numbers for several charts.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Start on a demo account and read the level plan in the Journal.
- Gold and indices need noticeably more capital than major forex pairs for the same lot; the pre-trade check will tell you.
- Enter your broker's round-turn commission per lot for exact basket math.
The Strategy Tester version runs with the default settings. Past results in the tester do not guarantee future results.
