Relay runs three strategies as one Expert Advisor: Dawnbreak (morning range breakout), LongRunner (daily index long without swap) and Second Wind (Turnaround Tuesday). You attach Relay to a single chart. It opens one chart per slot with that strategy's own dashboard and shows the whole portfolio on one overview panel.
One strategy on one symbol is a slot. Relay has 13 slots built in, each with its own magic number and the published example set of the single EA. No grid, no martingale, no averaging.
The three strategies
- Dawnbreak on XAUUSD, GBPUSD, US30, DE40, EURJPY, USDJPY, BTCUSD: marks a morning range, places a breakout order on both sides, stop at the range or 1 % of price, closes in the evening. Monday to Friday.
- LongRunner on US30, USTEC, DE40: buys the index after the session open and sells before the daily rollover. One long a day, no swap.
- Second Wind on US30, USTEC, DE40: buys on Monday while the index is below its daily moving average, sells on Tuesday.
The strategy code is the code of the single EAs, moved into classes. A script finds every original line again; only renamed event handlers and similar details differ.
The overview
- Balance, equity, open P&L, today and a chosen period (today, week, month, year, all) for the whole account
- Profit matrix: every symbol against every strategy, closed plus open, with totals per symbol and per strategy
- Slot list with state (orders set, entered, done, paused, symbol missing), open lots and open P&L
- Pause switch per slot: no new entries, open trades are managed as usual. Saved across restarts.
- Rebuild button for the slot charts. The overview never sends, changes or deletes an order.
Built for real accounts
- Every slot can be switched off on its own. A switched-off slot touches nothing.
- Broker symbol names: one suffix for all symbols plus a name per market (for example DJ30, NAS100, GER40). A missing symbol only switches that slot off.
- Per-slot override files: change any input of the single EA without recompiling, for example a smaller size or other times.
- Only one Relay per terminal. It warns if a single Dawnbreak, LongRunner or Second Wind EA with a Relay magic runs on the same account.
- Strategy Tester: all slots run in one test (MT5 multi-symbol).
Built-in sizes — please read
Dawnbreak risks 50 USD per trade on XAUUSD, GBPUSD, US30 and DE40 and 0.5 % of the balance on EURJPY, USDJPY and BTCUSD. LongRunner holds a position value of 1.8 × the balance and Second Wind 0.9 × the balance per index, both without a stop loss. On a Monday up to about 8 × the balance can sit in indices. These sizes are chosen for return, not for comfort. Every override file contains a ready line for a smaller size (0.25 % risk for Dawnbreak, 0.10 lot for LongRunner and Second Wind).
How it was checked
MT5 Strategy Tester, IC Markets data, every tick based on real ticks, 1 January – 9 October 2026, 20,000 USD, 1:100.
- Each slot alone against the single EA: 12 of 13 slots deal for deal identical, the 13th with the same result (one deal 5 seconds earlier on a holiday, same price).
- All 13 slots on one account: all 1,848 entries of the single EAs found again. Net +40,997.55 USD, profit factor 1.18, 1,852 trades, maximum equity drawdown 28.2 %.
Nine months are a short period. The drawdown is the honest figure to look at before choosing the size.
Requirements
- Hedging account. Up to three strategies hold the same index at the same time, each as its own position.
- Server time UTC+2 in winter / UTC+3 in summer (New York close = midnight). Other server times: shift the times with the override files.
- MetaTrader 5. Enough chart slots in the terminal for 13 slot charts plus the master chart (the slot charts can be switched off).
