🎯 What the indicator shows

  • Volume Histogram — trading volume distribution across price levels

  • POC (Point of Control) — the price level with maximum volume

  • VAH (Value Area High) — upper boundary of the Value Area

  • VAL (Value Area Low) — lower boundary of the Value Area

  • Value Area — range where 70% of the volume occurred (configurable)

  • Statistics Panel — all key profile parameters on the chart

🛠️ How to use

1. Installation

  • Copy ProfessionalVolumeProfile.ex5 to MQL5/Indicators/

  • Restart MT5

  • Drag onto chart

2. Configuration

  • InpLookbackBars — bars to analyze (default 500)

  • InpPriceBins — price levels (default 120)

  • InpValueAreaPct — Value Area % (default 70)

  • InpSession — session filter

  • InpLanguage — interface language (AUTO by default)

3. Trading Signals

  • Break above POC — bullish pressure

  • Break below POC — bearish pressure

  • Return to Value Area — potential bounce from VAH/VAL

  • Bounce from VAH — sell; from VAL — buy

  • Breakout beyond VAH/VAL — potential trend continuation

4. Best timeframes

  • H1, H4, D1 — swing trading

  • M15, M30 — intraday

  • M5, M1 — scalping (reduce LookbackBars to 200–300)

  • No repaint — POC/VAH/VAL calculated on closed bars only

  • Optimized — recalculates only on new bar
