Market Session Shade MT5

Market Session Shade MT5 is a chart indicator for MetaTrader 5 that helps traders visually identify the Asia, London, and New York trading sessions. It displays each session as a shaded area on the chart, making it easier to see the time periods in which market activity takes place.

The indicator calculates the high and low of each selected session and draws a shaded rectangle covering that session’s price range. Session names can be displayed directly on the chart.

Session settings

The indicator includes three configurable trading sessions: Asia, London, and New York. Each session can be enabled or disabled independently. Users can customize the start and end times, colors, transparency, and session labels.

The default session times are:

Asia: 00:00 to 08:00
London: 08:00 to 16:00
New York: 13:00 to 21:00

These times can be changed according to the broker’s server time and the trader’s preferred session schedule.

Chart display

Users can choose how many previous days of sessions to display, adjust the label font size and text color, and decide whether the shaded areas appear behind the candlesticks. The indicator can refresh its drawings when a new bar forms or on each calculation.

The session labels can be shown or hidden, and the transparency of each session area can be adjusted to suit different chart backgrounds.

The indicator also supports sessions that cross midnight.

How to use

Attach Market Session Shade MT5 to a chart in MetaTrader 5. Configure the session times to match your preferred schedule and select which sessions you want to display. The shaded areas provide a visual reference for session timing and the price range formed during each session.

Market Session Shade MT5 is a visual chart tool. It does not open or close trades, generate buy or sell signals, or guarantee trading results. Traders can use the session display alongside their own market analysis and trading strategy.
