EEFX Volatility Tool is a simple MT5 risk-management utility that calculates a suggested trading lot size based on current market volatility.
Markets do not move the same amount every day. A fixed lot size can therefore create very different levels of exposure depending on whether volatility is low, normal or unusually high.
The EEFX Volatility Tool automatically measures volatility and provides a suggested lot size directly on your MT5 chart, helping you adapt your position sizing to changing market conditions.
Why Use Volatility-Based Position Sizing?

When market volatility increases, the same lot size can produce much larger price swings and greater account exposure.
The Volatility Tool helps compensate for this by recommending a smaller lot size when volatility is elevated.
When volatility returns toward normal conditions, the suggested lot size can move back toward your standard trading size.
The objective is simple:
Maintain more consistent trading exposure as market conditions change.
Main Features
Automatic Volatility Analysis
The tool continuously monitors market volatility and compares current conditions with its reference volatility level.
This allows it to identify when volatility is:
- Low
- Normal
- Elevated
- Very high
The suggested trading size is then adjusted accordingly.
Dynamic Lot Size Suggestion
Set your normal trading size and allow the tool to calculate an adjusted lot recommendation.
For example:
Normal trading conditions
Base Lot:
0.10
Suggested Lot:
0.10
Higher volatility
Base Lot:
0.10
Suggested Lot:
0.07
Very high volatility
Base Lot:
0.10
Suggested Lot:
0.05
This allows the trader to reduce exposure automatically when the market becomes more aggressive.
Account-Based Lot Calculation
The tool can calculate your normal lot size using your:
- Account size
- Base lot size per $1,000
- Current market volatility
For example, if your preferred setting is:
0.01 lots per $1,000
a $10,000 account would have a normal base lot of:
0.10 lots
The Volatility Tool can then reduce this amount when market volatility increases.
Maximum Risk Reduction
You remain in control of how aggressively the tool can reduce the suggested lot size.
The Maximum Risk Reduction setting allows you to define the maximum reduction that can be applied during extreme volatility.
For example:
Base Lot:
0.10
Maximum Reduction:
50%
Minimum suggested lot:
0.05
This prevents the volatility adjustment from reducing the trading size beyond your chosen limit.
Previous-Day Volatility Option
The tool can also use yesterday's market volatility as its reference.
This can provide a more stable calculation by using completed market data rather than relying only on developing intraday conditions.
The option can be enabled or disabled depending on your preferred trading approach.
Simple On-Chart Display
The Volatility Tool provides the important information directly on your MT5 chart, allowing you to quickly see the current market conditions and recommended trading size before entering a position.
The objective is to keep the information simple and practical without adding unnecessary indicators or signals to the chart.
Example
Assume:
Account Balance: $10,000
Base Lot per $1,000: 0.01
Normal Lot Size: 0.10
If volatility increases significantly, the tool may recommend:
Suggested Lot: 0.07
If volatility becomes extremely high:
Suggested Lot: 0.05
Rather than changing your trading strategy, you can simply reduce your exposure to reflect the increased market movement.

EEFX Volatility Tool is a risk and position-sizing utility.

You remain fully responsible for all trading decisions.
